I can't haul around the dead carcus of Worldcom any longer.
My long distance has officially been switched over to Qwest, as MCI has been kicking me in the nasties for years, and I'm tired of it. $11.22/month, including taxes and fees and a 7 cents a minute rate really drains your pocketbook.
My local carrier was already Qwest, so I've only to pay $2.99/month plus fees, with a maximum of $25/month and 5 cents a minute for in-state and out of state calls.
Mostly I use cards, though.
Deena! Did you ever get a package from me?
Hey kids. Guess what? I got DSL at home now, yay!
It's SO much better, I can't tell ya.
The only problem, Katerina, is that once you have high-speed access, you can never bear dial-up again.
Daniel, I've used GTC [link] for my long-distance for at least four years and the service has been great. It's 5 cents a minute in and out of state, with no monthly charge if you pay with a credit card and $1.95 a month if you get a paper bill. There's no maximum charge, so I guess it's a matter of how long you spend on the phone.
(enthusiastic) It's so convenient. I'm getting so much done! I can even use the phone at the same time as the Internet.
Oh, Anne, yes! I did. Thank you. I was going to startle you with an actually polite, real-life, hand-written, snail mail thank you... and I will, eventually.
Probably.
I'm so sorry I didn't say anything sooner.
Yay, Katie Bee! So good to see you.
Hey Deena, it's good to see you too. I miss you guys!
