I have suffered from sinus headaches all my life. The cure that always works for me is the combination of:
1) aany nsaids including plain old asprin
2) cold wet cloth over forhead, eyes and sinuses
3) 1 hour laying back seated comfortably with eyes closed.
Not the usual medically indicated treatment, so don't know if it would work for anyone else. My theory is that the combination of nsaids and cold is anti-inflamitory and works for me because my problem is more inflamation that stuffedness. But if the other remedies don't work, the cold cloth and rest might be worth trying as a followup. And as others said purely a sinus remedy. Would be surprised if it did much for migrane.
Daniel, you're a dream patient. I hope I'm half as lucky with mine.
Nonian, that sounds like a friend worth having. How are you and the Minian doing?
She's a good friend. She actually volunteered to paint the baby's room and then offered to do the guestroom also.
Minian's doing great - lots of squiriming around when I'm laying down. I, OTOH, have a very painful uterine-type ligament driving me crazy. I'm trying to just relax and hang out and not life anything too heavy.
Teppy, I am also a fan of the really hot shower. I like to put Vicks on my chest when I take the shower. I'm not sure if it really helps, but the smell seems healing.
I'm very thankful that I live in a society where you can get around an ounce of triple antibiotic ointment in the dollar section or a dollar store.
60 years ago they barely knew what an antibiotic was, much less have it available for a mere pittance.
t insert disclaimer about increasing human resistance to antibiotics.
Antibiotic resistance is much much less of a problem with ointment and other topicals, compared to the super-bugs that develop resistance to antibiotics one takes orally.
That's good, Steph.
I still won't over-do it, tho.
Just the right amount of do will, um...do.
Sail, I'm sure I'll be functional when you get here... likely not sane. I get a little giddy when I'm happy.
DEENA! Did you order your big purchase?
I'm TYPING on my big purchase! Wheee!
I can't haul around the dead carcus of Worldcom any longer.
My long distance has officially been switched over to Qwest, as MCI has been kicking me in the nasties for years, and I'm tired of it. $11.22/month, including taxes and fees and a 7 cents a minute rate really drains your pocketbook.
My local carrier was already Qwest, so I've only to pay $2.99/month plus fees, with a maximum of $25/month and 5 cents a minute for in-state and out of state calls.
Mostly I use cards, though.
Deena! Did you ever get a package from me?
Hey kids. Guess what? I got DSL at home now, yay!
