Spike's Bitches 22: You've got Angel breath
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
The farthest I've lived from my parents is 2 hrs. When I move I'll be just a few blocks from Mom. Which isn't too bad, we get along and she doesn't smother me. There's no talk of meeting someone, getting married, and when will there be grandchildren.
I honestly want to move to SF, that's still my goal. Well my goal is to be there by my 35 birthday and that's in 3 years. (omigod! I'll be 35 in three years). She wants me to move. To her that's a mark of being a successful parent -- when your kids go off and are happy with the life they've created. But there's no pressure on that.
When she retires I'm pretty sure she'll move closer to her sister.
vw -- You've done so much amazing stuff with school. I'm so proud of you and I think you've handled the stress remarkably well.
We could always talk about cats on diets.
Snerk.
It's snowing here. Isn't it spring yet?
And you're all crazy because the Mets are totally winning the Series this year. I swear. Really.
since I know so little about baseball...
My parents sort of expected us to scatter that's what they did. I think they like have two daughter in northern Ca - because it is a cool place to visit. and with my other sister in te military - well, they've done a bunch o ftravel due to that. of course, both of my parents like to travel. Sometimes I like to travel just because it feels good to come home.
eta : and I can't spell today( or an day , but I'll just pretend it is today)
Amy you should come see me -- it's spring here! Japanese magonlias, dogwoods, and all kind of things in bloom.
Of course by April almost all the flowers are gone and everything is summer green and summer hot.
Though I expect the Mariners are better than .500 this year. They did add some pop.
But our pitching looks shaky indeed. I don't expect Moyer to ever come back to form--he's done. Franklin belongs in the bullpen. Pineiro and Meche may not return to their 2002-03 form. I love Madritsch--give me a million dollar head on a $10K arm instead of the other way around any day--but he's one man. And I don't think Felix Hernandez is ready yet.
Plus, on the offensive side, I'll be stunned and amazed if Sexson stays healthy, Boonie needs to break out of his doldrums, and the rest of the lineup other than Beltre and Ichiro isn't that impressive. I mean, granted Beltre and Ichiro are pretty damn brilliant on their own, but one or two players can't carry a team.
After last season, I'm Eeyore until given concrete, on-the-playing-field reasons to be otherwise.
It certainly looks like spring here too. I have crocuses, daffodils and flowering quince in bloom and I've seen some Japanese magnolias just starting to bloom. I should knock wood, since I'm still scarred by the year it snowed on April 5, turning all the flowers to brown mush.
I really need to get out and take some pictures -- there are several Japanese magnolias that are in full bloom. I know, this weekend I'll go to one of the public parks/gardens. Haven't been there in AGES but it's so pretty.
And in about a month pollen will be every where, dusting the cars and makign littel yellow pollen puddles after the rain.
hearting Emily so fucking much right now
Eee!
hearting juliana right back
I love the Buffistas. They get my jokes.
Also, I just derived the quadratic equation. You know, I had never done that before. That's going to be my new occupy-the-brain exercise (e.g., what I do while waiting to fall asleep), now that the proof of irrational numbers has lost its charm.
vw, if you want, we could go over it tonight. If not, I totally understand -- my mother's an English professor and I never ever let her help me with my homework -- but I could use the practice on someone who gives a shit and who will tell me when she doesn't understand. Tutoring high schoolers seems to involve a lot of mind-reading.
I should point out, however, that I still love the proof of irrational numbers, I just know it well enough that it's not a useful exercise anymore. If anyone would like to see the proof, I'd be thrilled to show you!
That reminds me, askye, there's a particularly gorgeous old Japanese magnolia in my neighborhood that has blooms that are more purple than the norm. This year I should remember to get pictures.
