Spike's Bitches 22: You've got Angel breath

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Steph, that is SO freaky! Your boss is in my thoughts and prayers. Eek!

I want you all to know that I took my first exam of the semester today. This is important to note because I DID NOT GET A MIGRAINE! The last two semesters, each time I had an exam, I had a migraine. BUT NOT TODAY! I really am learning to handle stress better.

Plus I had a good meeting with my advisor about the big project. I've got some work to do to make it work, but it should work out.

Also, CALLING HEC! I've got news for you. Where the hell are you? Are you working? 'Cause if you are, you should stop that...

Also, I have no idea why there are so many ASSCAPS in this post. Please accept my apologies.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

All right, Anne! You deserve a coloring book!

Or, you know, whatever else you might want.

(eta: and WOO-HOO VW WITH THE NO MIGRAINE HAVING)

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I loved smooshing it onto the Sunday comics, peeling it back and seeing the pictures backwards.

Curiously I saw a band named Smoosh play live at Amoeba yesterday. They were two sisters, 15 and 13 (I think). The elder played keyboards and sang. The younger drummed - she had a very hip hop/drum loop kind of style. It was very disconcerting seeing how young and talented they were.

Hey! They're a Seattle band, and supposed to be really, REALLY talented. Every interview I've ever read with them has been a delight.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Gah. I just discovered a huge, previously unknown sore spot of hurt, anger, and defensiveness over something that I would've said didn't really bother me. I don't think I covered very well in the conversation where it came up. Want to go home now so I can rant and get it out of my system before I say something I shouldn't.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Tomorrow, I am taking a "me" day before starting temping again and going full bore on the St. Louis job hunt.

I've been toying with the idea of going down to DC for the day, but I'm pooped, and besides, it may snow tomorrow. I may save the DC trip for better weather.

Now that the whole house-prep monkey is off my back, I'm feeling oddly at loose ends.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Congrats on the stress handling, vw! Although I'm sure the whole lack of a migraine is a better thing than anything I could type at you.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Did you not have the dresser and kitchen table before, or did they not make it up the stairs?

Our old table (from IKEA, 4+ years old, very cheap) fell apart when we tried to take it out of the old apartment (we picked it up and one of the legs fell off), and our old dresser belonged to my dad when he was a kid, and was very much on its last legs.

Our old place was our first apartment out of college, and so a lot of our furniture was from Target, or inherited from relatives throwing stuff out. Now that we're real grown-ups, we're sloooooooowly acquiring real furniture. Or trying to, anyway.
