Did you not have the dresser and kitchen table before, or did they not make it up the stairs?
Our old table (from IKEA, 4+ years old, very cheap) fell apart when we tried to take it out of the old apartment (we picked it up and one of the legs fell off), and our old dresser belonged to my dad when he was a kid, and was very much on its last legs.
Our old place was our first apartment out of college, and so a lot of our furniture was from Target, or inherited from relatives throwing stuff out. Now that we're real grown-ups, we're sloooooooowly acquiring real furniture. Or trying to, anyway.
Hey! They're a Seattle band, and supposed to be really, REALLY talented. Every interview I've ever read with them has been a delight.
Yep, the singer had a great pop voice. The songs were all pop, but really informed with contemporary hip-hop/R&B type hits. She was rocking the keyboard too! She did one song and it was revved up with heavy fuzz like Suicide. And the wee little drummer girl was so cute - and good. Well, they were both cute little blonde things.
Tomorrow, I am taking a "me" day before starting temping again and going full bore on the St. Louis job hunt.
Sounds like a good plan. Congrats on the house stuff being done!
Now that the whole house-prep monkey is off my back, I'm feeling oddly at loose ends.
Silly Putty. Or a coloring book. I'm just sayin'.
{{brenda}} That sounds like no fun for anyone.

That's what I'm thinking. Either that or crossword puzzles.
Oh, brenda. I'm so sorry. I hope it eases for you. Can you vent to us?

Yeah, us too. Pay no attention to the fact that this is our second house (and we had two apartments before the houses), and that we've been married almost ten and a half years. Our dressers were my grandmother's, but not in that oh-look-at-the-nice-old-furniture way. It was my granmother's as in, "Who told Nana to buy laminate in the 80s?" way.
My mother has my kitchen set, now. It didn't fit in this kitchen. I so miss my old kitchen, it's not even funny. On the upside, we use the dining room, in this house.

I go more for the Fill-it-in's.
Hec, insent.
Anne, go you! You made it!
Also, I want to buy your house. Too bad I don't live near you and have lots of money.
House goes on the market Friday
Congrats Anne! I hope you have a chance to relax for a minute now. I just found out today that my company is opening an office in St. Louis next month. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't want to work for them but if you're interested at all let me know and I'll see what kind of positions they're hiring for etc.
Basically all of my friends are knitters and they're always trying to get me to do it. I'm just not that co-ordinated. I have no interest in it and if I tried it would also be the opposite of relaxing for me. I would be peeved at them for bugging me about trying it myself except that I am so often the recipient of really nice knitted things (most recently some pink mittens with sparkly black furry fringe).
I think the girls ibn Smoosh are even younger than Hec says -- 10 and 12, maybe. But it's possible I read old articles. I need to check 'em out.
