I can't believe how lucky Mom is. It was her bronchitis that caused the chest pains that led to them testing her heart. Her surgeon told us today that the location and the size of the blockage in the main artery would have made any heart attack "an unsurvivable event". So she wouldn't have gotten an easier warning sign. Those words give me chills. But all is well and she should be MUCH MUCH better now.

My mom had a hysterectomy for a benign ovarian tumor this May and that's when they discovered the uterine cancer which the doctor told her would have not been detectable for another two months, at which point it would have been "too late." Thank God for things being MUCH MUCH better!

Yay for the good mom news, Cashmere. I am so glad for her. That bronchitis really was a blessing in disguise, huh? I hope her recovery is swift. Are you going to go out while she's still in the hospital, or wait 'til she's home?

So much of life is blind luck. Or miracles. Or stuff. I'm happy for it, nevertheless.

Things are going so well for my family members at the moment. My brother is in AA--he started in jail. And he likes his sponsor and is continuing with it. And my dad--MY DAD--went to church with my sister this past weekend. I feel like everyone is getting a new lease on life. I'm dying to go visit and hug them all.

Yeah, my dad was the same way - no sign of anything wrong that would require surgery other than five years of steadily increasing knee pain.

Cindy, we'll wait until everyone's well. She'll be out of the hospital Saturday, so I want to go up then.

And Christopher's ick went away so much faster than ours. He says it's because I'm so tired from childcare stuff that my immune system isn't up to par. I'm better but still tired. O's acting normal except for the poop.
