RZ is a fine actress. The only thing that bothers me about her is that we are supposed to believe she is incredibly hot, too. I've never looked at her once when I didn't think a Bitch was better looking, and Plei could have her waiting tables. So I'm just announcing I'm really beautiful, okay? I'll have one of my people send over a release on that. ETA: So, I guess my real gripe is really about how they promote actresses nowadays, not really RZ. Speaking of which, does the slit in the back of a long coat have a name? My newest long coat doesn't have one, which means every breeze catches it and makes it fly out behind me. It's kinda funny.

I've always called it a vent, though I've been known to be wrong (see: topknot). Never had a long coat without one, though. I did have one I ordered online where the vent was loosely sewn closed for shipping and I didn't notice it. It was PITA to walk with the thing buttoned up until I realized my mistake.

I've decided that my mom's family genes create abnormally cute babies and toddlers.

One of my cousins just sent me pictures of her near 1 year old and OMG. Eyelashes for miles and just such a nice arrangment of features. Even though all the cousins' progeny don't really resemble each other (time will tell if the P family nose will continue, poor us) they are all classically gorgeous kids.

Love the coat that kat p linked to. Love it. All the other vintage clothing was so pretty. Red dress that Steph first linked to and the green coat were my favorites.

I have a new purse, and it's more rectangular in shape than any I've had before. Longer, but not as tall, fairly wide, and it's so handy. It feels compact, but it actually fits a lot of crap, and it's easier to find it all. I'm pleased. Also, it's pretty.

Oh yeah: I don't really like Travolta in theory, but he won't keep me away from a movie that seems otherwise awesome. Tom Cruise ditto -- I liked Collateral OK. Also, I love The Rock, and also Dwayne Johnson.

And my leather coat has a big slit in the back, which totally makes it fly out behind me and be AWESOME. One day a couple of falls ago, I was wearing it with a turtleneck and flared corduroys, heading up past 110th Street on Broadway, and I totally felt like Shaft. Even though I was (and continue to be) a white woman.

OH! AND! No wonder I was freaking freezing on the way home -- it's twenty degrees out! Wasn't it just 50????
