I've always heard in skirts that it is called a kick pleat. Never mind it isn't so much a pleat as a slit, but.....

RZ's got some unfortunate smirks, but everything I've ever read or heard about her from way back indicates she's a quite pleasant person. Who plays characters who often irritate the hell out of me. OK, that's Bridget Jones. Or any other whiny character.

Coding and Sleeping

I'm currently deciding between a Honda Pilot and Ford Freestyle

Of those two I'd go with the Pilot. The Freestyle is brand new and has a brand new for Ford CVT transmission, it might be perfectly fine but I'd want to let Ford have a couple of years to work out the kinks.

Edit: Actually, I would suggest the Honda Odessey. It would get better fuel economy and have better space utilization than either of those two. The Pilot is pretty much the same vehicle with different sheetmetal.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Heh. Just had coffee with my minion. She used to work in upscale Manhattan stores and dealt with many movie stars. And she reported her encounter with RZ was entirely pleasant, and that RZ was very cheerful, nice and cute. Also on rollerblades at the time.

Leonardo Dicaprio was creepy and scratched his balls the whole time.

Macauley Culkin was very sweet and stinky drunk.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Face/Off.

DH and I rented this recently, and realized while watching it that it was pretty much the last really good movie that either Travolta, Cage, or Woo did. (And admitting at the same time that Adaptation throws off this theory for Cage.) But other than that, it's like the movie sucked up all of their collective remaining talents in one fell swoop.

I thought a kick pleat was when a skirt had one big pleat in the side or the front. Presumably to facilitate kicking.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Hey, Nonian, just so you know, I've been looking up stuff for your blog question and hope to post some semblance of an answer tonight. It won't be all that informative, but it'll be something.

Mom used to refer to it also as the vent in the back , but I am no tailor.

I saw this really bad Travolta movie once. It involved stealing a stealth or something. It was painful, even dubbed in czech with subtitles. Uhg.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Broken Arrow, also Woo, with Christian Slater.

Terrible.

Betsy, I'd totally wear that.

I'm pretty sure the slit in the back hem of a jacket is called a vent. If you have two on the sides (like James Bond), you are British, or at least your jacket is.

Slater was in that? I totally blanked that. Probably from the trauma. Now if I could erase the memory of having watched Doom Generation I'd be ecstatic.
