"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

I think we would not eat a big dinner if we ate it at 10pm. Because we eat it at 6 or 7 (unless you're me), it's not as weird.

My problem is how easy it is to skip lunch, and consequently how hard it is to muster the energy to care about anything at 4pm. This would be why I keep snacks in my office -- peanut butter crackers keep the business world moving.

I have a plan.

Dinner and supper were always the same thing in my house. For me, the biggest meal of the day is whenever I feel the need for a big meal, usually that's around lunch time.

And hi everybody, how you doing?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Large breakfasts are for lazy days with time to prep (or go out) and time to digest. I have approximately 0 of those per week.

My largest meal tends to be lunch, unless dinner is going to be an event (like advanced sushi tonight). My lack of hunger at dinner is sadly unrelated to how much I ate at lunch, so if I want nutrients, it's my best shot.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Now I want guacamole. Thanks, Burrell.

de nada

When I'm not pregnant, dinner tends to be the biggest meal. When I am, especially around now, I could pretty much skip dinner in favor of grazing.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Anyone else have the dinner=2nd meal, supper=3rd meal thing?

On Sundays and holidays, yes. Sunday dinner would be a big meal and supper would be something like soup or sandwiches.

Anyone else have the dinner=2nd meal, supper=3rd meal thing?

Not growing up, but I've encountered it in Texas and Kansas quite a bit.

Swouncing

The one time the evening meal (I'm not going anywhere near the "dinner" and "supper" mix) is bigger than lunch is during shabbat or holidays 0 then the evening meal is a group event, with certain ceremonies (blessing on whine, for example) and the like. Other than that (and on Saturdays and holidays, on top of that), lunch is the big meal of the day.

In the South, at least, the big meal used to be in the middle of the day, but that started shifting when people were at work all day.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Anyone else have the dinner=2nd meal, supper=3rd meal thing?

I knew a lot of people who referred to the meals that way growing up in Baton Rouge, but I'm not positive that "dinner" was the big meal of the day, necessarily. I've heard that it's more common in rural areas.

Kalshane:

So I think I'm dealing with the company record for Spyware right now. Ad-Aware found 18435 objects. The first time it tried to clear them off the PC locked up.

Kalshane. Reboot your PC is "Safe" mode. (Turn in off and press F8 as it boots.)

Run Adware again. Also spybot. Safe mode stops some (not all) of the stuff spyware does to stop you from removin it.

Also, if you don't have antivirus software get it and install it. Cause with that much malware, it strikes me as at least possible you have viruses as well.

(If you already have anti-virus software, run it in safe mode after you run adaware and spybot. If you don't have AV software it must be installed in regular mode, not "safe" mode.)

Again you get into safe mode by shutting down your computer, restarting and pressing f8 during the reboot. You get out of safe mode by simply doing a standard reboot.

And if you already know everything I said, I apologize for wasting your time. I have a bad memory, and don't remember what you do for a living, so I did not know if you are computer sophisticated or not.
