I, for the record, have totally bailed. I once left town for a week and didn't tell anyone but the one roommate that saw me go, even though I had commitments and stuff. Most people were very understanding. It's not like it happens all the time.
Since Logan is fictional and all, I see no reason to bother with Kat's clearly insane notion that he belongs to her. mmmm Logan. My Logan love at the moment rivals my Dan love of 2001.
