Pitchers and catchers reported today for some teams!

And in Cincinnati there was a collective sigh of relief, for lo, no matter what the calendar says, summer has begun! No wonder I'm giddy and bouncy today. I couldn't figure it out all day, until I remembered that pitchers and catchers reported today.

I think you were -- it was just a month after 9/11, and I think all the New Yorkers weren't quite themselves. But I remember that you were So! Fun!, and riding the Staten Island Ferry with you and Tom and Trudy. Somewhere I have a picture of that.

There's just something wrong about the fact that a 19¢ pack of Ramen noodles tastes better than the canned noodle soup I had for lunch today. For 19¢ stuff should taste like rice cakes.

Also, all my post-college friends that griped endlessly about having to eat Ramen were full of it. The stuff tastes better than what they could cook with actual groceries.
