"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Have you seen the Dr. Pepper commercial that uses this song?

I have! I'm so glad you have, too. I love that commercial. It makes me laugh wildly. The guy looks so earnest as he explains, "Mahna mahna!" Hee.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

My husband pointed it out to me, simultaneously knowing that I'd get a huge kick out of it and mystified by my reaction.

Art Crawl!!!

Results for pugs are up (Westminster Results). [link]

I was watching the Havanese results and you could see the pugs being shown in the next ring.

No other candidate is asking the hard questions, like "Did geophysicists assassinate Jim Henson?" or "Why is there hydrogen in America's water supply?" --defective yeti

I got an Internet Explorer error trying to download the new Shockwave, unfortunately.

Also, I liked those hearts. Pretty.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I went down there to see the pugs one year -- they wouldn't let us into the actual show without tickets, but we got to see all the doggies waiting to go in, plus all the ones in the lobby. So cute!

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Oh, god, I think the whole document is corrupted. Can I go home now?

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

mystified by my reaction.

Fortunately, I spread the Mahna craze to the SO and his then-coworkers, so he appreciated it with the full depth of appropriate reaction.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Nou's hearts don't parse for me. I use the entity instead: ♥♥♥♥♥.

Or I would, but that's way too schmoopy for me.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yup. Go home. Before it corrupts you.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

4500 posts and two weeks later, I'm relatively affixed in my life again. It's still kind of surreal being back, though. As if none of that time ever passed.

And maybe go find and eat some pink heart cookies.

God, I want pink heart cookies.

Beth, are you in grad school now?
