Seriously, I have little to no interest in ever living anywhere where you HAVE to own a car. This occasionally worries me, with regard to future life partners.

In completely other news, people who have extra cash should check out the Seeds of Peace on-line auction. [link] They work with kids from conflict areas, especially Israelis and Palestinians, do really good work, AND there's a ton of cool stuff up for auction. FYI.
I LIKE having a car. I can still pretend I can get in it and head west and keep going and just run away (yes, I'm having work issues. Fucked up. Self medicating now.)
But I wish my real estate prices weren't so not-having-car like.
Maybe I should just go to my canyon and be a hermit like Blacky at Ghost Ranch. Except, I can't draw good horses or paint murals t /obscure reference probably only I get
oooh, local talkshow does a lot of shows on Seed of Peace (ok, I've heard 2.) It is incredible. And sadmaking and happymaking.

I can do that in a bus. Or whatever.
OH! And car stuff does impact living costs -- when a friend of mine moved from NYC to MI, we realized that her base living expenses would pretty much stay the same, since she was going to buy a new car.
Having a car sucks. Insurance people are making a killing off of it. Also, Bush, off the petroleum thing.

Yeah, even with the car paid off, my insurance is roughly $1300-$1500 a year. Which is actually a big issue here right now, because if I lived 100 yds away, in the county? It'd be closer to 50% less. Or more.
Then there is the gas...I drive very little and that runs me $15-$20 every 2 weeks. And then repairsn & oil. Which, for me, probably average $150-$200 a year since I bought this 3 year old car 5 years ago.
edit: figure out. That's probably $2k/ year on a car that's paid off. Repairs are mostly maintenance stuff, not catastrophic.
Krav is all that, Gus. Never forget.
Suddenly I want to name a daughter Cynthia Rose. I don't even like the name Cynthia. But Cynthia Rose seems very pretty.
I have a medical-ish question. Sometimes the side of my neck hurts, pretty much the trapezius, and the ear on that side is kinda blocked, maybe even the nostril. And a headache comes soon after.
I'm good with the muscle tension->headache thing. Whyfor my ear and nose get involved? That makes no sense.
