The windy side? Where did you go?
Ocho Rios.
I also vote for Croatia, because I want to go to Croatia. It's Italy, but Slavic! What a combo!

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

I've never noticed Ochi being significantly windier than, say, Kingston. I don't vacation much on the south or NE side, though.
I don't remember it characteristically windy at all. But maybe I have a high tolerance.
I spent a morning at and near Montego Bay. Don't remember any particular wind.
I went to court today about my uninvited houseguest. When he showed up, he had those purple and yellow bruises all over his face that white guys get when they are slow in a fight.
I felt like such a shitheel. The dude needs help. He needs a place to crib, and maybe some tips on how to curb his ethanol hang-up. The judge just wanted to know was how big a book to throw at him.
"I hereby sentence Mr. X to 18 months of continual ass-wuppings by other inmates." ...was is in no way satisfying.
Gah, that's rough Gus. I'm sorry this landed on you.
Argh, Gus. How frustrating. And I'm sorry that Wisconsin is no better than California at dealing with lawbreakers who have other problems besides breaking the law. I knew CA had been all screwed up since Reagan dismantled our mental/psych care safety net, but I had a vague idea that the other states had learned from our bad example.
I'm sorry, Gus. You have been cast into a very difficult role in this little drama.
Pierre c. Shadeaux has predicted a long spring. I hope he's right.
Reagan dismantled our mental/psych care safety net
Yeah, that was a nationwide phenomenon.
Ugh, Gus.
In much pettier news, I now realize that I will pay for my cockiness about making it to 30 without ever being a bridesmaid. I am currently scheduled to be one in June and in September. Bleh. Although, I can't think of who would be next, so that should mean it'll be a while....
When I was in Madison (mid to late '80s) there was some controversy in Wisconsin - some people felt that since Wisconsin had a "better" welfare program than other states, disadvantaged folk from other states would come to Wisconsin to "take advantage" of it. So I guess I'm wondering outloud if Wisconsin's progressive history has pretty much bitten the dust in the last 15 years or so?
Gus, I'm sorry. My first instinct upon seeing your name over a post was to ass-caps a "welcome home!" to you, but now I'm just sorry it's been a rough coming-home.
[Edited to write JZ-with-exclamation-point, because I haven't posted with her in forever. So: JZ! Hope you're doing well.
If there's one thing in sitting here to write a paper when it's nearly tomorrow, it's posting with people I haven't posted with in forever.]
