And you know what? I wouldn't do the first or third of those in front of a documentary cameraman.
Appropriate context, appropriate behavior.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Plenty of people here would.
And there are plenty of others who'll dub you weird and not-grown-up just for the second.
Not watching the news or what I call trashy gossip programs, I don't know what is being covereed with the MJ stuff. I think it is sad that people feed the media frenzy, but they certainly do. Along the same line, I think any celebrity accused of wrongdoing is pretty much presented as guilty by the media. It seems to me that MJ brings lots of the attention on himself by holding press conference and refusing to keep a low profile.
As with anything, people we know are allowed more freedom in their actions than people we don't. I wouldn't go to a con and I would look strangly at a group of adults wearing tiaras or corsets if it wasn't clear that they were part of a show or entertainment event of some sort.
There are dozens or hundreds of people in the world who do lots of things I consider insane.
Dude, 51 million people voted for Bush in the last election. I'm still talking myself out of going around the country with a list and a question. The question being, "WTF????"
Slightly tongue in cheek political rant aside, I feel there are many situations that a lot of people signed up for some Very Bad Stuff, as a group.

Wow! Weatherbug says that it's 40 degrees outside!
It's 71 sunny and gorgeous in San Francisco.
Why are we still talking about MJ when we could be talking about my lunch?
David's Lunch: Grilled skirt steak sandwich, juicy and tender. Served on a ciabatta roll with sauteed mushrooms and onions, and a touch of horseradish sauce. For dessert: the banana cream tartlette I like from Miette, that has a Scharffenberger chocolate bottom.
Hivemind question: I'm graduating in May, won't be working until at least next Jan and I have almost 80K in student loans. I have heard there is "consolidation" and "deferment" but I'm not sure what either is. Can y'all help?
sulks
JZ's Lunch: Microwaved pouch of TastyBites saag paneer (not great, but decent and decently spicy, and worlds better than the last saag paneer I had, which came from an actual local restaurant but was vile). For dessert, an apple with peanut butter.
I had both a big bowl of cereal and Incredibles Pop-Tarts for breakfast and felt that I must pay for my sins. But the apple is gone and I'm hungry enough to eat my right arm.
you people are fancy having dessert with lunch.
