You know how much I love you Daddy / But if you don't mind I'm only gonna kiss you on the cheek this time
I didn't see anything about not on the mouth, Betsy. I read this line to mean they were doing butterfly kisses on the cheek, and then when she got older, she just kissed him regularly on the cheek instead of doing butterfly kisses. And then I figured she butterfly kissed him on the cheek again at the wedding (instead of him butterfly kissing her tummy), because immediately before walking down the aisle would be a really weird time to make people start stripping out of their formal wear.
You guys are totally allowed your eww, just to be clear. I just don't get it. I like the idea of affection between kids and parents, even cross-gendered, when it seems completely innocent, like this seems (to me).
But I'm going to try and let it go. This will most likely be helped by the slice of cheesecake I'm about to go focus on.
Pope hospitalized with "breathing crisis".
Could it be the cloud of gray smoke coming from the college of cardinals?

Affection -- good. Degree of affection -- variable impact.
God, that's an awful song. I keep trying to forget and then ita brings it up again. I need a "Block Butterfly Kisses" function.
When you have a low tolerance for sappiness, something can be sappy enough to bring on nausea. It's the sugar overdose.
I am going to do the ghoulish and tasteless thing.
Supposing the Pope does die this time, he's apparently appointed so many of the College of Cardinals that his successor is bound to be like-minded.
Does it work that way? Or is it possible that a JP2-created Cardinal could go against his mentor?
Or is it possible that a JP2-created Cardinal could go against his mentor?
What is realistic for "against"? I admit, I don't pay much attention, and couldn't tell you the impact of one pope as distinguished from another.
JP2 is staunch on, among other things, priestly celibacy, disapproval of contraception, and Mary as co-Redemptrix with Jesus.
In my naivete, the first two are things I just thought of as Papal.
Interesting.
Okay. As of 2001, JP 2 had appointed 125 of the 135 cardinals who were then eligible to vote. Because you have to be under 80 to vote, some of the remaining 10 may have aged out since then.

ita, I'm not clear on the theology, but I *think* it is possible for one Pope to reverse encyclicals put out by a previous Pope. Humanae Vitae (the anti-contraception one) wasn't officially promulgated as being infallible, so another Pope could in theory reverse it. Don't hold your breath.
