'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Damn those meth addicts, bogarting all the weight loss.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Happy Birthday, Anne!

I'm having Kashi GoLean blueberry waffles for breakfast. It's making me want to go to Roscoe's and get real waffles.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Happy Birthday, Anne!

I'm having homemade apple pie and two carafes of coffee for breakfast today. We got just enough ice last night to excuse me from doing anything remotely useful. And I think my Cowboy Bebop addiction may be returning. Plus, it looks like the CB creators put out another show that Adult Swim will be playing (Wolf somethingorother). Has anyone else heard anything about that?

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Many happy returns of the day, Ann! Hope it's a great day for you.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Happy Birthday Anne!

It's still snowing here. At some point I will shower and dress, and maybe even go out. What a concept!

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

How are the wedding plans coming along?

As little as possible. Now that we have the basics like time and date squared away, I've decided that the way to stay sane and not get sucked into all the incredible weirdness is to convince myself that it's just a big fun party, but with vows. Because I can pull together a big fun party without huge drama about the table runners and the bridesmaid's earrings not being exactly matching shades of puce.

What is even happening?

Atta girl. I was thinking of you, because I was leafing through the JC Penney catalogue, and there were some very pretty dresses--not bridal attendant dresses, just dresses, and I think they were something like $69.00. I don't even know if you're having anyone stand up with you, but I saw them, and thought if I was getting married now, I'd take a look at them in person.

We did all our planning in four months and on a budget and in a much more relaxed fashion than many weddings, and I hear the thing went off pretty well, though I barely recall the day. I'm convinced that wedding stressing is a totally not-needed thing. Go you!

Things a wedding needs: Bride; Groom; Tasty Cake-like Substance. All else is optional.
