Oh, I get it. You just don't like who did the rescuing, that's all. Wishin' I was your boyfriend what's-his-height. Oh wait, he's run off.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I had the Flanvention forum open in another tab and I just clicked past it and noticed it's now asking me to log in.

Uh, whatever.

What I do want to know is what happened with it...are they refunding? Bankrupt (the main BE site doesn't look that way)? Being sued?

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

ita, BE have deleted their forum, the Flanvention information and Flanvention ticket purchase history (if you're a customer and log in).

There's a police investigation going on in Oregon which has made contact with about a hundred customers, an investigation going on in another state (but they've asked not to be named), and a state level department of justice probe going on in Oregon. (Oregon is where the business address is registered).

No word from the owners for about a week. Suspect they are shittin' it.

and a state level department of justice probe going on

I'm sorry, but that just sounds cool.

Granted, I'm not the one being probed.

Thanks for the heads up, Kevin.

I have no idea if BE was criminal, but they certainly were criminally stupid, all the way through and after the cancelled con.

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

Yep, that's the best summary I think ita. There's been no real evidence emerge online that they were into fraud with the money, but -- that said -- I think any BE customers would welcome somebody external looking at the accounts and the situation surround the collapse.

The owners managed to bungled the convention, and then continue to bungle the fall out from it. They openly said they don't have the money to refund people last week, so we'll see what happens. The fact they stopped posting online a week ago suggests they are getting legal advice now, though, I suspect. Or at the very least the clue stick has been turned on.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Any con without the hottie security team is not a con worth attending, I tells ya.

You'll be available for the Drive party, right?

I mean, what if that mean guy shows up to try and cut Tim's balls off?

I think he needs a security detail.

And obviously, so will Kristen.
