Shit's all sorts of different now.

Aimee went to the same place I did.

Oh thank goddess. I was feeling very alone.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Thanks, Juliebird.

brillig

Huh, and I just happened to wander over here with the sudden question, "Does anyone know what Joss intended to do with Book's background," and I saw that link above.

I thought Book's death in the movie was kind of "the hell?" too.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

The Inara/Reaver story squicked me a hell of a lot more than the Book theory.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

way more squicky as far as subject matter goes, and I still hate Tim for dropping that tidbit, but not whacked out and all character-assassinatey

or something.

The story-potential I see in the Inara/Reaver idea is dark and disturbing, but still good. The Book thing just leaves me cold and feeling more violated than the reaver thing, and from a story-telling standpoint, nyeh.

I don't think I'm saying it right.

I actually plotted out my own variation of the I/R plot that keeps me in a warm fuzzy angsty place, without the nasty violation. I'll dig out that plot bunny when I get a chance.

when i die, please bake my ashes into a brick and use me to hit fascists.

A prose development of that idea exists, too. [link]

(this is not so much a recommendation as me remembering I have it bookmarked and wondering if I'm ever going to get around to reading it.)

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

if anyone's interested, here's pretty much what started the ball rolling on my idea for Tim's fvcked up brainchild: [link]

Basically, I protected my innocent little self by speculating that the poison makes Inara poisonous to the touch, *anywhere*, so the second she gets grabbed: dead reaver, instantly. So the most she'd suffer would be scratches, bruises, radiation exposure (bad enough) and the horror of looking upon the reavers.

What is even happening?

Article on the Case Film Society holding a 12 hour Firefly marathon to raise money for Equality Now and the Cleveland Domestic Violence Center. I think Tamara is quoted in it: [link]
