Everyone here has already probably already seen it, but just in case, here's a link to Joss's Equality Now speech, at YouTube: [link]
I've transcribed it, for people who can't watch it for some reason (and/or hear it): [link]
Discussion of the Mutant Enemy series, Firefly, the ensuing movie Serenity, and other projects in that universe. Like the other show threads, anything broadcast in the US is fine; spoilers are verboten and will be deleted if found.

Thanks, Cindy. I think Joss needs to be on TED 2007
t after further contemplation...
Introduced by Meryl Streep? Fuck your Emmys and Oscars. That is the ultimate.
Well, I was going to see The Devil Wears Prada anyway, but now I have another reason/excuse to do so. Meryl Streep rocks.

You know, I was sort of thinking the same thing.
I was too, at first, and then she used the sort of voice adult phonies use when speaking to kids, and I suddenly didn't like her any more. Then I liked her even less while transcribing, because I am slow and had to listen to it over and over again.
OK, I admit a deep well of ignorance when it comes to the Civil War, but I just learned that Jubal Early was a commanding officer in the CSA.
And I believe, somehow related to Nathan Fillion?
As I recall, Jubal Early was a distant ancestor of Nathan, and he talked Joss into using the name. It's a great name. I love obscure Biblical names.
I don't think it's mentioned here but I'm sure most know, Serenity's script supervisor has been selling early drafts of Serenity (the movie) on ebay. I'm still sniggering that The Operatives name was Jude.
