Riley: Oh, yeah. Sorry 'bout last time. Heard I missed out on some fun. Xander: Oh yeah, fun was had. Also frolic, merriment and near-death hijinks.

Discussion of the Mutant Enemy series, Firefly, the ensuing movie Serenity, and other projects in that universe. Like the other show threads, anything broadcast in the US is fine; spoilers are verboten and will be deleted if found.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

Ah. OTOH, if you can get into the character actor niche, you could have some fairly dependable income. Lead actors get popular and then most fall back down again, but a good character actor can have an IMDB record a mile long.

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

Yeah. I know John Hurt through family, and he's been in like - everything.

Alan Tudyk has a similar plan.

There's a nice break down of the budget of The Village here [link] You can see the difference in pay between the "named" actors.

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

The highest paid person on that shoot was actually the writer/director, looking at it.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Having only heard of actors' salaries when they're in the $5 million or over range, I was really shocked when I heard what Elijah Wood got for LotR (all three films)--$1 million total. The cast did get bonuses for each film after they did well, but still, that's practically nothing for the lead role in a megablockbuster.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I just get a blank yellow page from that link. Is it a browser thing?

aurelia - it works here under Firefox. Might be a browser thing.

One of the weird things I find about conventions is those people going into them thinking the attendees are earning mega bucks from acting... Usually not. Chances are most of the people posting on this site earn more than your average guest starring actor on Buffy.

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

Serenity is #1 for last weeks UK DVD Retail chart, #2 for rental. It debuted 25th on US Rental chart in December.

And that's because the US DVD artwork was, well, crap.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Daniel just made me watch Ice Pirates. Is it possible for that to be a parody of Firefly when it was made twenty years before?
