Ah. OTOH, if you can get into the character actor niche, you could have some fairly dependable income. Lead actors get popular and then most fall back down again, but a good character actor can have an IMDB record a mile long.

The highest paid person on that shoot was actually the writer/director, looking at it.
Having only heard of actors' salaries when they're in the $5 million or over range, I was really shocked when I heard what Elijah Wood got for LotR (all three films)--$1 million total. The cast did get bonuses for each film after they did well, but still, that's practically nothing for the lead role in a megablockbuster.

One of the weird things I find about conventions is those people going into them thinking the attendees are earning mega bucks from acting... Usually not. Chances are most of the people posting on this site earn more than your average guest starring actor on Buffy.

Serenity is #1 for last weeks UK DVD Retail chart, #2 for rental. It debuted 25th on US Rental chart in December.
And that's because the US DVD artwork was, well, crap.
