Fred: So you don't worry that it's possible for someone to send out a biological or electronic trigger that effectively overrides your own sense of ideals and values and replaces them with an alternative coercive agenda that reduces you to a mindless meat puppet? Shopkeeper: Wow. People used to think that I was paranoid.

Discussion of the Mutant Enemy series, Firefly, the ensuing movie Serenity, and other projects in that universe. Like the other show threads, anything broadcast in the US is fine; spoilers are verboten and will be deleted if found.

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

Serenity is #1 for last weeks UK DVD Retail chart, #2 for rental. It debuted 25th on US Rental chart in December.

And that's because the US DVD artwork was, well, crap.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Daniel just made me watch Ice Pirates. Is it possible for that to be a parody of Firefly when it was made twenty years before?

All is well that ends in pizza.

Xposted from the Minearverse:

We kept making parallels to Firefly.

I may not be right in the head.

Jason (Robert Urich) is Mal
First mate Rosco and Anjelica Huston's character merge to become Zoe.
Lyle Alzado is Jayne.
Ron Perlman is Wash
Mary Crosby is Inara

Apparently this adventure takes place before the pilot...

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Even after the first two admittedly low-budget Evil Dead movies, Bruce Campbell worked as a security guard. In his book "If Chins Could Kill" he wrote about the day a co worker finally recognized him.

Good book, btw, I recommend it.

Chiming in the second this rec. Also, the paperback has an addendum about the book tour for the hardcover release (the "Chins Across America" tour), so that's the edition to go for.

Speaking of parodies and Firefly....HELP! All you clever linkers and writers out there...I need a good parody script for either Firefly or Serenity.

Fella, the bf, is having a birthday this Saturday. I'd like to have a script to distribute to our dinner guests so we can do a table reading. I'll throw together props for everyone.

I did this once before with a ROTK script and it brought the house down.

Since Fella and I met at a Firefly meetup, it seems only right. And potentially hilarious.

Wish I had time to write one myself...but I need to rely on the kindness of...well...you!

Any links greatly appreciated. Or, you can ping me at my profile addy. Muchas Thanks!

Maybe that Serenity in 2000 words thing? [link] But the site seems to be down. I thought I had a local copy but I can't find it.

ETA: Maybe [link] instead?

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

The girls at Fuggin' it Up mention Gina Torres/Evangeline Lilly slash, Firefly, and what the fuck was she thinking with this outfit?

Thanks Kernel. The sock puppets are going to do nicely. I'm printing out the jpgs so that each reader has their character on a stick. (And full and complete credit will be given the the authors!)

This should be fun.

Since Fella is the captain of our RPG ship, I'm thinking about adding him as a character.
