If that is a Firefly relevant post, do you intend to delete the rest of the cast so we can't speak of them anymore?
Firefly 4: Also, we can kill you with our brains
Discussion of the Mutant Enemy series, Firefly, the ensuing movie Serenity, and other projects in that universe. Like the other show threads, anything broadcast in the US is fine; spoilers are verboten and will be deleted if found.
Well ... Okay.
Wait! I can keep Melinda Clarke , right?
Mal's sidelong glance as the last shot of The Message? HOTTER THAN THE SUN. (You know, just in case anyone missed it.)
Ahem.
In other news, how come DVD sets never seem to include the previouslies?
Well, R1 Mutant Enemy ones never do, at any rate. I know R2 Buffy did for at least some seasons (there's commentaries that had to be slightly edited because of this). And I know my West Wing DVDs have the previouslies.
At the risk of making a Firefly relevant post, I present: Serenity being released on HD DVD.
I want to be Mal.
I want to have this really seriously weird family that has all kinds of issues that piss off the world. I want to stand between the world and my seriously weird family and tell the world to back off.
It's a boy thing.
You know, someone is eventually going to discover that "straight-to-DVD" is no more of an insult to a movie than "straight-to-print" is to a novel.
...what other alternative is there for novels?
eText? Books on tape? I dunno, I think his point was that it's not necessesarily a bad thing any longer.
However, there will always be a subset of really cheezy and bad films, and they will likely always be there to taint the pool...so maybe there should be a word or phrase we could use to differentiate good straight-to-video from bad STV.
Right now, direct-to-DVD means either that it's a kid's movie that's going to make a huge %age of its money there anyway, or that it's too crap to be on the big screen ever.
If movies are made simultaneously available, then, like DCJ says, you just find a new word.
