People labeled me rude for linking something, and calling Nilly "Nilly". That's fine - I don't care, that's their opinion of how they persceive something (most things in life are subjective).
It's ironic that I'm doing this, but if you stop coming across as if you're dictating how others should behave/react, you may find yourself being dogpiled less.

The multiple instances of "if you post it, it's fair game" and the commentary about nicknames are two examples. In both cases you've staked out a position, then gone "I don't care" when called on it.
But then, that's just my "perception".

I don't see it as an ambiguous statement at all. It's clear that Kat feeels some people felt like she did (and I read reactions the same way), but that she wasn't going to speak for everyone.
I read your response like you were challenging her statement -- but I see now that you're not. Just clarifying your reaction to Kevin. Doesn't affect what she said.

SailAweigh, I rarely interact with you and would never assume to speak for you either. Nor did I say, "I'm speaking for anyone/everyone/just X, Y, Z people."
I took what I observed; that many people were riled up by things that Kevin wrote. If you need me to, I can go through and cite all the posts that do that, because I have a paper to write and am happy to procrastinate. But, there's little point. Because when people call something a kerfuffle, it demonstartes that there were other people who felt upset, bothered and offended.

If links are posted online, you have to assume people are going to link to them. This is why they are called links. By putting something on the internet, you put it on the internet for everybody to see.
In the link in question, I didn't know bandwidth was an issue, nor did I know the person who owned the site posted here. I've offered my apologies on that front here, and offered to pull the link in question.
This is not dication. It's my opinion if you put something on a web page the internet (I'm not talking about a post on Buffistas, for clarity: there's a reason I didn't link directly here), you presume people are going to read it. I don't really think that is dictation.
Nicknames, I offered *MY* opinion on it. And clearly stated it was my opinion on it.
"I don't care" is my reaction to people saying I'm wrong about the nickname thing. It's my opinion. Tough shit if people don't like it. I'm not saying it's the right opinion. I'm not saying anybody should agree. It's my personal thought, which my wee brain has - it likes real names compared to online names.
