Discussion of the Mutant Enemy series, Firefly, the ensuing movie Serenity, and other projects in that universe. Like the other show threads, anything broadcast in the US is fine; spoilers are verboten and will be deleted if found.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

There is no runner. Builders, yes. Runners, no.

Well, there are runners. A whole lot of them.

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

I'm not saying it's a secret - I'm saying I skimmed the FAQ when I joined, and haven't thought about who runs it since. I know you have some involvement, ita, since it's pointed out upthread.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Since we've now spent a day and roughly 200 posts discussing netiquette and how the lot of us are silly for disagreeing with one prolific poster's personal views of attribution and fandom self-identification, is there anyone around who actually has some Firefly-related thoughts or opinions to share?

Zoe's dress sure was neat.

Also, I want Ninja Companion Supplies.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

is there anyone around who actually has some Firefly-related thoughts or opinions to share?

I don't have anything nice to say.

You really don't want to go down that route with Allyson. She already has tried.

Hence being reduced to taking all those pictures off my server.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

You must not know about the Secret Bitch Cabal yet.

That's the one comprised of sockpuppets who were mean to Hitler in high school, right?

Uh-oh. Invoking Nazis? Fandom_Wank here we come...

Also, I love Zoe. And also Zoe's dress.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

This is sort of Firefly related...

How cute is this design? [link]

A One that isn't cold, is scarcely A One at all.

My take on fandom. I actually think of it as a broader term different than the way it's commonly used. According to wikipedia, "in politics, a country (or in some cases, a group of countries) over which a king or queen reigns, is a kingdom." So stands to reason fandom is made up of all these individual fan communities, for the sake of simplicity let's call fancomms. To make an analogy fancomms:drinks as fandom:alcohol. You can quit drinking but you can never be an ex-alcoholic. You may quit a particular fancomm or it might fade away but that doesn't mean you're out of fandom because your just the next fancomm away from being back in. Hi, my name is AnthonyDe and I'm a fandomholic. (this is not in anyway to diminish the serious of alcohlism but to draw a parallel to addiction)

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

is there anyone around who actually has some Firefly-related thoughts or opinions to share?

Wait. What?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

My sister's trying to watch Firefly. To shut me up. She thinks that Zoe and Wash are too improbable a couple, and that the characters aren't as complex as I made them sound.

Oddly, I don't remember saying they were complex. In fact, I don't think that Zoe, my head-and-shoulders favourite is that complex. Doesn't means she's not interesting. Or magnificent.
