Y'all see the man hanging out of the spaceship with the really big gun? Now I'm not saying you weren't easy to find. It was kinda out of our way, and he didn't want to come in the first place. Man's lookin' to kill some folk. So really it's his will y'all should worry about thwarting.

Discussion of the Mutant Enemy series, Firefly, the ensuing movie Serenity, and other projects in that universe. Like the other show threads, anything broadcast in the US is fine; spoilers are verboten and will be deleted if found.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Here's a visual aid:

This is a douchebag from myspace.

[link]

Notice that amulet in the "about me" description?

It's hotlinked from my Wolfram & Hart Charity Auction page.

What he did was enter the URL for the picture, and uploaded that to his myspace site.

So everytime someone goes to his page, they're actually loading my page, as well. He's stealing my bandwidth.

Now, he COULD just right click on the picture, save the image to his hard drive, and then upload it. Doesn't suck bandwidth from me. Is rude in that he's not crediting where he got the picture, but it's not a daily assfucking.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I'd like to point out that Allyson's examples have 200% more ass in them than mine.

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

Hotlink protection is quite simple to implement - a quick Google will get you a .htaccess file which will stop all hotlinking to a site working.

I'm not arguing against unspoken rules, by the way. This site is owned by whoever runs it, and whatever the decide, it's their right, as it's their site. I have no mission to change things here, as I'm simply not arsed. (Coincidentially, one of the reasons I like here is the fact there's no bolding of names or colours - I haven't a clue who runs here, and don't care, and that's the way it should be IMHO).

My example of hotlinking a page: the time Universal pointed SerenityMovie.com's screening page at my site instead of doing their own web page. Also, the image of Summer Glau on CantStopTheSignal.co.uk appears to have had 9000 hotlinks so far this month. Go Summer!

Trust my rage

You must not know about the Secret Bitch Cabal yet.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

You really don't want to go down that route with Allyson. She already has tried.

This site is owned by whoever runs it, and whatever the decide, it's their right, as it's their site. I have no mission to change things here, as I'm simply not arsed. Heh. Someone doesn't click on all the links. Don't praise the site for your lack of knowledge.

Wouldn't be much of a secret if they were in the FAQ.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I thought it was Activist Bitch Cabal. You know, like judges.

It's a co-op. There is no runner. Builders, yes. Runners, no.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Since we've now spent a day and roughly 200 posts discussing netiquette and how the lot of us are silly for disagreeing with one prolific poster's personal views of attribution and fandom self-identification, is there anyone around who actually has some Firefly-related thoughts or opinions to share?
