Nice. Gina Torres's is right below it, too. (Made me sad for Zoe again)

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

Gives a quote from Alan Tudyk on it, suggesting that he thought that Wash would have bought it in the series before too long, had it continued.

My secondhand understanding from people who worked with him on the movie was that he never intended to stay on the show long, even if it had continued.

Which I was sort of expecting anyway, because nobody in a series being written my Joss Whedon and Tim Minear gets to stay happy for long. And Wash and Zoe were the happiest happies ever to be happily married in Happystan. That was some serious pain coming from the second we met them as a happily married coulple.

It's a remora, dimwit.

Okay, finally saw the movie, more than a month after being bragged to by John H. about how he got to see it early multiple times.

And, well, I was underwhelmed. The only bits of it I didn't predict well ahead of time were where the film had a rupture and we got a blank screen and odd music for two minutes (unless that was a part of the film) and the lack of the Grr, Arrg guy at the end. And Almanzo was bummed about the lack of sing-along opportunities. (He does a great rendition of Jayne's song.)

What is even happening?

No Grr, Arrg guy?

It's a remora, dimwit.

Nope, no Gordon Abrams. Extra roomy seats, check. Weird usher who thought I was Russian, check. Previews only for kids' movies and several parents in with very young children, check. (There was also a lot of kids at "Cinderella Man" - but I think they might have just been confused.) Person who kept saying things like, "I don't think this is like Star Wars at all!", check. But SeƱor Grrre Arrgo, sadly absent.

When we kill people it makes the policemen flustered and stern.

Both times I've seen it I stayed to the end of the credits and when they finished gave my own "Grrr Argh!" to the applause of everyone left in the theatre. I miss the mutant.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Yeah, I waited for him too, but then I realized he wouldn't have been there, because it wasn't a Mutant Enemy Production.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

I'm totally jealous that Madrigal gets to hang out with John H., and that John H. gets to hang out with Madrigal.

All this time, I thought Hunter was a bitch. Turns out she was just hungry.

My secondhand understanding from people who worked with him on the movie was that he never intended to stay on the show long, even if it had continued.

I suspect casting agents love this guy too much for him to stay put on any series for too long.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I suspect casting agents love this guy too much for him to stay put on any series for too long.

That's how I feel about Tudyk. I have too much love for him.

I'm totally jealous that Madrigal gets to hang out with John H., and that John H. gets to hang out with Madrigal.

I have this jealousy also. Also also, Kate P. lives too far away.
