Anya: It's lovely! I wish it was mine! Oh like you weren't all thinking the same thing. Giles: I'm fairly certain I wasn't.

Firefly 4: Also, we can kill you with our brains

Discussion of the Mutant Enemy series, Firefly, the ensuing movie Serenity, and other projects in that universe. Like the other show threads, anything broadcast in the US is fine; spoilers are verboten and will be deleted if found.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

It was The Pax.

Hmm. Utter eradication of any trace of gayness would explain the Reavers' stylistic choices in fashion and decor...

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Shut down all the garbage mashers on the detention level! SHUT DOWN ALL THE GARBAGE MASHERS ON THE DETENTION LEVEL! NO! SHUT THEM ALL DOWN!

I have no idea why I needed to say that.

Because garbage mashers is oddly fun to say?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

It's structured to clearly illustrate the two extremes of the world: too much civilization and too much liberty.

Le sigh. You know, even more than the characters [heresy!] I miss this about Firefly-the-series. It was just a beautifully designed setting for stories. It was created to foment moral conflicts and valid-but-differing points of view.

There were so many fucking stories to tell.

If we're really lucky, they'll do it in that order...

Ok, this comes under the good news category:

From the forum of cantstopthesignal.co.uk.

Serenity opens #1 in the UK!
#1 new opener!
#1 movie of the weekend!
#1 gross per screen!
The only country to have growth from Friday to Saturday!
Press release and figures to follow shortly. We did good, we did real good.

Ok, so it'll get blown off the top spot next week when Wallace and Grommit opens, but that's still pleasing news.

From the same forum:

Looks like it's #1 in Ireland as well

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

At least there are some sane countries out there....

What is even happening?

Who'd have thought the British Isles would have a higher per capita of Geek than the U.S.?

Okay, everyone, but that's beside the point.

Hey! I object! It's not like my mere presence on this board is proof of my geekiness...

Ah, who am I trying to kid. ;)
