To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

Re: Joss' grocery list.

“I have read Joss’s grocery list 148 times and I can tell you it’s smarter, funnier, and more compelling than anything currently on TV."

Sadly, this would probably be true these days...

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I had lent my DVD's to a co-worker last week so she could watch before seeing the movie. It was on my desk with a note this morning.

If we're really lucky, they'll do it in that order...

It's so true, it hurts!

It's still a few more days until it's released here in the UK. I am looking forward to seeing it again.

I made sure to tell my sister that it starts this week - having hooked her on it by giving her the DVD set for Christmas, and she's looking forward to seeing it. Though I had to fob her off on the whole "Does anyone die in it" issue. Which, as I think Kalshane posted previously, makes you feel kinda mean, but it needs to be done.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

While I'm off galivanting in San Francisco, DH went to see Serenity today by himself. He called to tell me, "It was a great movie! But--WAH!"

Guess which character he's always identified with?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Guess which character he's always identified with?

Badger?

eta: You didn't say it had to be a good guess.

when i die, please bake my ashes into a brick and use me to hit fascists.

Was the little girl playing Young River the same one as in "Safe"?

I remember checking the stage directions in the shooting script right after I bought the visual companion this weekend, to see what the heck that injection was, and they didn't say anything useful about it there. I missed that there was a line mentioning it...thoroughly confused.

I also thought I saw Simon putting something in the mule. But what with Jayne later needing his spare clips that were in the compartment, I wonder if I thought it was Simon putting stuff there, when it was actually Jayne. I'll try to watch that more closely tonight.

So what are our chances of having all nine cast members plus whats-his-name The Operative, plus Joss and maybe Loni, on the DVD commentary? I'm anticipating great things on this DVD.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

No, Una. I checked IMDB, thinking the same thing.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

I noticed one of the girls in young River's class was M'Zati (sp?) from Voyager (Borg girl that 7 of 9 took care of). I always liked her, so it was cool seeing her even though she didn't have anything to do.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

I saw it again this weekend, and it was, indeed, much easier to watch Wash's death and the ensuing battle sequence the second time around. I didn't even really know what was going on the first time, because I was so numb with shock and grief, so I was glad to be able to watch the rest of the movie more closely this time.

Micole has a beautiful review here: [link] I've been reading a lot of reactions to the movie, but this is one of the few that really struck a chord with me.

Every time I think I have something to say about Serenity, I realize I don't. So I'll just be over here in the corner, with my inarticulate sorrow and joy, anger and love, waiting until I can see it again.

What is even happening?

I read Micole's review earlier. She made me cry.
