Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Gus, I didn't expect to see previews at Gardener, but I did hope for posters in the lobby.

I may have to seize the cat.

I am afraid this movie will be a secret to non-fans or at least people who are non-fans and don't know any fans. I fear they are banking a bit overmuch on the built-in fanbase.

Bag the crypto. Say what is on your mind.

Kiba, you are now required to wash out your mouth with bar soap.

Check it. Mark the date. I am predicting that Serenity will go 20M+ on opening weekend, and that it will kick north of 100M in domestic run...

... based entirely on "fans who know non-fans"

You know, we could experiment and cancel football.

I'm with Gus on this one.

Gus, I like the way you think. I'm quite prepared to see every screening at my local theater all weekend.

Oh, yeah, I plan to see it several times, which is just not something I... have ever done. And I figure if I'm doing it, then so very many others will, too. Although, OK, not every screening. But multiple screenings for sure. So fun.

Today at the movie, when I told my friend that I'd budgeted for a ticket for every screening of Serenity opening weekend, he looked at me like I was crazy. Can you imagine?

"There are two sorts of people in the world: those who believe Joss Whedon is a genius and those who are wrong." - Connie Ogle, Miami Herald

All my non-fan friends who I brought to screenings are now fans, so I'm hoping that's a good indicator.

I was at a party last Saturday and I was talking with one of the people who saw the movie, and we were explaining how it started as Firefly to another friend. Mid-conversation, someone else approached and asked what we were talking about. I started repeating my nutshell description of Firefly and she didn't react, but once I mentioned Serenity, she immediately said, "I want to see that!" She must have seen the trailer at some point.

Count me in as someone else planning on seeing it multiple times. I'm trying to get a group of people I know from work to go on the 30th.

Listerine will have to do, it's what I've got.

Understand that fear and believe are two very different things. I am afraid of it happening. I don't think it will, but I still fear it.

I have no idea how many showings I will or won't be going to, but that might be because as of right now I am only employed in the vaguest sense of the word (I begin training tomorrow for teaching GRE prep courses, an occupation which will bring me a vast 3 hours of work per week - so I am still looking for a 40 hour a week gig).

ETA: I got a cool number. yay!

I don't know how many friends I'll be able to drag to Serenity, but I've promised myself at least 6 viewings.
