She rocks and stuff, but .. I like the crew. Even if the story is all about her, drop me some crumbs.

I was just coming to post what ita just did. Part of what I liked so much about the show was that it was a crew-show.

And I do realize that it's just the one movie and it has to focus on less than the show could, but on the pilot episode, which was 1.5 hours, so movie length, we got the crew, so now that I know it's possible, I'm greedy.

Yeah, the font is my biggest problem with this version, but I still prefer it to the other one. Sticking River in the front with weapons is going to make a lot of people think Buffy: The Crazy Space Years though.

I get a toaster for my father. Took my DVDs with me on my trip this weekend, persuaded him to sit down and watch the pilot, ended up watching four other episodes.

I was only there for a day and a half.

Mind you, it helps that my father thinks watching TV together is a perfectly good activity for a visit, unlike my mother who would insist on, I don't know, talking or something. Still, he loved it. But he had a question I didn't know the answer to (since I never really cared) -- what was the deal with laser guns versus the bulletary variety? Why does everyone have the Wild-West style? We didn't get to Trash, so I couldn't remember what they said.

I think my main problem with the poster is that it looks so cut-and-pasted. There's no particular reason they'd need to stand so conveniently spaced, not to mention they all seem to be reacting to completely different surroundings. Well, that or posing.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

It's to confuse the Reavers.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

Lasers are illegal for private ownership is what we're told in HoG. I don't think Trash mentions the whys, just that the lassiter is the first one.

On the non-legal side, it's been postulated (though never mentioned in the show) that traditional firearms are easier to build and upkeep than laser weapons, which would make them the weapon of choice among outer-rim folk anyway.

Universal should have gotten Kristen and Allyson to work on it.

I wanna know what's with the Papyrus knockoff font?

move out and draw fire

I wanna know what's with the "rewind" arrows as the crossbars in the "E's".

Your tag here.

Somwhere on the new Serenity site, it mentions that only the Alliance are allowed to have lasers. Not sure if this can be considered canon, since it's not strictly spelled out that way in the show, but there ya go.

Also, Kalshane makes a very good point regarding bullets. Same argument holds for horsies.

It's to confuse the Reavers.

Now I have the mental image of the cast suddenly breaking into a spontaneous production of kabuki theatre, complete with make-up, and the Reavers just standing with their heads tilted like in that Monty Python "Confuse a Cat" skit.
