You're wrong about River. River's not on the ship. They didn't want her here, but she couldn't make herself leave. So she melted... Melted away. They didn't know she could do that, but she did.

Discussion of the Mutant Enemy series, Firefly, the ensuing movie Serenity, and other projects in that universe. Like the other show threads, anything broadcast in the US is fine; spoilers are verboten and will be deleted if found.

I wanna know what's with the "rewind" arrows as the crossbars in the "E's".

Your tag here.

But he had a question I didn't know the answer to (since I never really cared) -- what was the deal with laser guns versus the bulletary variety? Why does everyone have the Wild-West style? We didn't get to Trash, so I couldn't remember what they said.

Somwhere on the new Serenity site, it mentions that only the Alliance are allowed to have lasers. Not sure if this can be considered canon, since it's not strictly spelled out that way in the show, but there ya go.

Also, Kalshane makes a very good point regarding bullets. Same argument holds for horsies.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

It's to confuse the Reavers.

Now I have the mental image of the cast suddenly breaking into a spontaneous production of kabuki theatre, complete with make-up, and the Reavers just standing with their heads tilted like in that Monty Python "Confuse a Cat" skit.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I prefer that one to the Star Wars looking one.

Heh. I thought this one was rather Star Wars-looking.

I just thought, what with the heads, and the gun... if they were drawn, instant Star Wars poster. From back in the day, obviously. Which isn't a bad thing.

Way to make sense, Jars.

All this time, I thought Hunter was a bitch. Turns out she was just hungry.

Spoilerish poster, not?

Anybody have any ideas for a Firefly-centric name for my newest fantasy football team? I'm in a league called, believe it or not, Jaynestown Mudders.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Heh. Did I tell you guys one of the new players in my daughter's roller derby league chose the rink name of "Gorram Reaver?" It made me very, very happy.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Browncoat-ism is beginning to infiltrate the culture. Shiny.

The generation that could change the world is still looking for its car keys.

Gunpowder is easier to make than batteries on the frontier moons. Any other reason is just silly.

Do we think the "lassiter/lasseter" was named for the head of Pixar?

Hmm, FF team names. Does it have to be like a real team name (place + mascot)? Coz my league had names like "Blame Canada" and "Cry Havoc" so you could do something like "Train Job" or "Aiming to Misbehave" or "Can't Stop the Signal."
