Woe to the fucking wicked.

I wonder how many there are going to be, in the next month

I delurk, therefore I am.

These viral marketing vids are making my brain all tingly. I have thoughts and questions.

Did River say a name when she was talking about the guy who died on the table? I wasn't listening very carefully and didn't catch it. Just wondering if the name (if there was one) was the same that was mentioned in Session 1.

Can anyone refresh my memory and tell me how long it took Simon to rescue River after receiving her letter? I'm thinking it was at least a year, yes? Because I'm wondering if this session is the one that was recorded right before she wrote the letter to Simon.

I'm wondering whether or not she's been operated on yet. She certainly seems a lot closer to the River we know than the optimistic, happy girl we saw in session 1. But I also think that a lot of her behavior changes could have come with conditioning and not surgery. We see the psychiatrist try to beat her down by saying Simon's too busy for her and stuff like that. I think she might have had some natural ability to "read" other people, as she says as much in the first session. So, my thought is that the Academy might try to enhance her skills as much as possible via conditioning or hyponosis before trying surgery. Just a thought.

Another thought: How did the Academy/Alliance discover her in the first place? Did someone tip them off, or do they monitor everyone, looking for promising candidates? It just makes me all kinds of curious.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Simon did say that it looked like they'd gone in several times, so it could be mid-process.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

It sounds like there's some sort of state-run or -sponsored education system, at least for people in the Tam's class. The interviewer asks her if she wants to go back to "GenEd".

Who? moi??

I can't get the Quicktime sound to play. I have downloaded the damn thing (software) a couple of times. This latest time I saw a notice that said the missing components are not on the Quicktime server.

Any suggestions?

"When I look at people that I would like to feel have been a mentor or an inspiring kind of archetype of what I'd love to see my career eventually be mentioned as a footnote for in the same paragraph, it would be, like, Bowie." ~Trent Reznor

"For two years I couldn't get near her," said Simon in "Serenity, Pt. 2." So we're guessing a little more than that.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

DebetEsse, I read that there are four of these videos.

Are these things spoilery for the movie? I'm guessing not, but I just want to make sure before I click. It all sounds fascinating.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Jen, not at all. I have no actual authority to say that, not having seen the movie, but, as a spoilerphobe, I stand by my claim.
