Discussion of the Mutant Enemy series, Firefly, the ensuing movie Serenity, and other projects in that universe. Like the other show threads, anything broadcast in the US is fine; spoilers are verboten and will be deleted if found.

Punishingly Intricate

I got my new EW yesterday and they mentioned Serenity.

The one with Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet on the cover?

Sure I went over to the Dark Side, but just to pick up a few things.

I think so.

Punishingly Intricate

I think so.

I shall have to read it more thoroughly.

I got my new EW yesterday and they mentioned Serenity. I saw that and cheered! I should start an official countdown.

Sorry - this is wrong. It's in the new TV Guide. It's listed on page 11 of an article titled "TV Shows hit the Big Screen!" The article is as follows (no spoilers)

Serenity
Stars The case of the short-lived Fox series Firefly - including Nathan Fillion and Gina Torres - returns for this space western.
What to expect With Buffy creator Joss Whedon writing and directing, this could be a fun ride.
In theaters September 30, 2005

(Now, what I'm thinking is, "What do you mean could be a fun ride ? There's no question about it; it will be a fun ride. Dumbasses.)

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

Does he even have a clue that Inara likes/loves him?

I think he's clueless on this one. Like in Room with a View (I know, it was all abbreviated, but I can't remember the abbreviations), when Cordelia says that the thing that makes her apartment perfect is that there is one little thing to fix, Mal's cluelessness about Inara is the thing I love to hate about him.

Lurching from one disaster to the next.

Put me in the Mal was serious when he thought Inara had kissed Saffron camp. I always laugh at that scene and Morena's reaction/expression is perfect.

It's nice to see some brave pretenders trying to make it interesting.

Haven't seen this mentioned yet, and some of you may be interested. I sometimes watch the Lifetime channel (yes, mine is a sad life) and I've seen previews for a movie called Widow on the Hill. Jewel Staite plays the daughter of a widower. (Movie actually about widower who gets sucked into relationship with beautiful woman.) I have NO idea if it's decent, or how much of a role she has, but if you are curious it's airing on Monday Jan 24 at 9 pm ET. (Warning, it's inspired by true events.) Widow on the Hill

I also think Mal was convinced Inara had kissed Saffron. Morena's reaction was indeed perfect.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

She's excellent all through the last part of that episode. Cracks me up every time.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Remember when we hated Morena and thought Inara was a terrible character? <sigh>

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I think "Our Mrs. Reynolds" may have been the first time I Didn't hate Inara.
