Nice acronym, Mom!

Firefly 4: Also, we can kill you with our brains

Discussion of the Mutant Enemy series, Firefly, the ensuing movie Serenity, and other projects in that universe. Like the other show threads, anything broadcast in the US is fine; spoilers are verboten and will be deleted if found.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

The program was nice. Tri-fold format, nice glossy photos, bios of cast and Joss.

Nothing that anyone who hangs in this thread probably didn't already know.

Frank, I have an extra copy if you want it.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I didn't know that Buffy is the number 2 selling TV show DVD. Or that the soundtrack to "Once More, With Feeling" has sold over 400,000 copies.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

It was nice to see that info, though. I assume Friends is the #1 seller?

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

but most especially Dana and Shrift.

They got to meet Summer.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

I am so ridiculously happy to hear reports about the non-fans who loved it anyway!

Also, madly jealous of Teppy's plastic dinosaur goodie bag.

Sweet! Next Sommervillian gathering, I'll remind you to bring it.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

No swag in Providence except for the keychains and programs. They passed around a birthday card for Joss, and folks sang "Happy Birthday" (twice, the second time so someone could camcorder it so they could send a DVD of it along with the card), and some guy in a really ugly hat led a sing along of "The Hero of Canton."

Sounds pretty much like Chicago, except the birthday card was a banner in the lobby and we only sang Happy Birthday once. We also pretty much butchered "Hero of Canton" in our theatre despite our resident orange-hatted person passing out lyric sheets. Also, no one would have managed to get a camcorder into our theatre without serious work, as they were searching everyone's bags as they came in.

ETA: From a bit back

mostly because it had Mal, Zoe, and Wash all playing fools.

I've heard this arguement, mostly applied to Wash. As for Wash, I see his mistake in the light of 1) They had men with guns chasing them and shooting at them. 2) Neither Wash or Kaylee are tacticians or a warriors. 3) He seems like the kind of guy who if he thinks of a dangerous plan, he's going to be the one who goes through with it. I just can't see him sending Kaylee on the run. I think he was more or less focused on the immediate future of "How do we stop these people from trying to kill us?"

How did you feel Mal and Zoe were foolish?

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

I was in Charlotte. We got Chris Buchanan, a native North Carolinian, which was very cool. I didn't figure we'd get anyone. He actually gave Kiba her own little round of applause. We also got keychains, programs, and cool big postcards with the logo on front and the website on back.

God. So worth the drive, so worth getting back at 4:30 am.

Teppy, that's so cool of the Browncoats.

Met JadeHand briefly. t waves

eta oh, yeah, and is "holy fucking wow" considered a spoiler?

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

By the by, I have extras of all of those stickers except the Mudder's Milk. The Blue Sun one is especially cool. Anyone wants one, ping me. There's Blue Sun, Jaynestown U, and a Browncoats one.

I may have to seize the cat.

My main problem with it was that the Heart of Gold hookers were so generic looking and such bad actors.

But they had pretty hair!

too dumb to live

I always wonder a) how it's possible that Tracy survived the war and b) where we find this brilliant, funny Tracy that Mal and Zoe are always reminiscing about.

BTW, I wore my "Got Joss?" shirt (I got it from Kiba's site [link] ), which drew many envious comments from fans.

THANK YOU! I love when people buy that stuff, and even more when people who don't are all, "Hey, where'd you get that?" I think I owe Summer Glau a "got joss?" tote bag. If I knew where to find her, I'd send her one, but I hear the Mutant Enemy PO Box is dead. I wonder if that kind of material would survive going through an agent's office?

I was in Charlotte. We got Chris Buchanan, a native North Carolinian, which was very cool. I didn't figure we'd get anyone. He actually gave Kiba her own little round of applause. We also got keychains, programs, and cool big postcards with the logo on front and the website on back.

There were gobs of keychains left, so I grabbed 4. I think they are going to local friends and family who didn't get to go to the screening, except I promised one to tralf.

I LOVE Chris Buchanan. I told him (and I wasn't even lying to flatter) that I would rather have him around than any of the actors. I said he was the next best thing to Joss (which he took fairly well, and which I did NOT intend as a slight). And it was so cute when three people tried to get up a round of applause for me, because if the exec producer said I was important, I must be, and then everyone else was like "Key-what?" I am gleeful.

Also, loved the movie. (But love the show more.) I can venture into spoilers now. YAY!
