I kissed him, and I told him that I loved him. And I killed him.

Discussion of the Mutant Enemy series, Firefly, the ensuing movie Serenity, and other projects in that universe. Like the other show threads, anything broadcast in the US is fine; spoilers are verboten and will be deleted if found.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I liked HoG, too. But I have come to acknowledge that I am pretty undemanding in my Firefly love. Any (negative) criticism anyone has made of any episode was something that I just didn't notice or didn't care about.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

t sits next to Robin

I didn't read any discussion of the unaired eps till I watched them, and while I could see the reasoning behind the HoG dislike, I still enjoyed it.

Trash is my favorite of the unaireds, though.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I think Trash might be my favorite, period. It is certainly the one I watch the most.

Of course, I also think that Pangs or Intervention is my favorite Buffy, so I guess I like the lite.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

"Trash" is definitely my favorite of the unaired. I love Disc 3 like whoa.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Unaired.

Oops. Well, I liked all of the unaired episodes, but probably like The Message best. Though I don't know if it's essential for the movie.

Supposedly, none of the episdodes, aired or unaired, are essential for the movie.

Not that I've seen it and know, though.

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

Yeah, none of the unaired episodes are really jumping out at me as being necessary for the movie.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

It's also been criticized by some (including me) for taking the trope of the "whore with a heart of gold" and.... doing nothing with it. Not even one little twist. Pretty much every stereotype is played out. No subverting whatsoever.

I disagree with this somewhat. The hookers' "hearts"/characters weren't ever an issue; they were just fighting for what was theirs. It also doesn't take into account how the show had (at least tried to) subverted the hooker trope in general by creating companions.

Punishingly Intricate

I loved HoG for the Mal/Nandi. (or Nandy? whatevah) So hot!

My main problem with it was that the Heart of Gold hookers were so generic looking and such bad actors.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

HoG would have been a wash-out for me if it weren't for Melinda Clarke. I love her lots.

"Message" has some lovely bits but the egregious stupidity of everyone on that episode makes my brain go BOOM. Let alone the OMG no-sense-making basis for the whole story. Like, whaddaya mean organ theft by storing someone's other organs in your own body? WTF? What do you do with your own organs--shrink'em and shove'em up your ass or what?

I do love "Trash" though. I have huge fondness of YoSaffBridge, and the fun caper-plot doesn't hurt.
