Frank ... I believe the seasons of The Goodies were a bit like Red Dwarf. They didn't make episodes during every one of those years; there were gaps between some seasons. Moreover, as with most UK shows, they only make a handful of episodes per season.
No, I get that after going to the link. Still, there were fewer gaps, and more eps per year, than I was expecting. I thought they had only been around for a year or two back in the day.

No, they were quite a long-running thing. I was a little surprised, actually, to find that they ran into the 80's, as I'd pegged them as basically seventies. Anyway, they are at last starting to get the recognition video/DVD releases they deserve.
Oh God, I think I nearly passed out from laughing at the dog breeding episode where Graeme cross-bred Rover the Long-haired Pug and a white feather duster. The sight of all those little tribble-like puppies latching on to Bill's backside in anger was absolutely hilarious.
I have vague memories of falling off the couch laughing at "Mr. Bunny" on The Goodies, back when I was in junior high. Channel 11 (PBS) here in Chicago had a good late-night Sunday programming block, with Monty Python alternating with The Goodies at 10:00, Fawlty Towers/Two Ronnies/Dave Allen at Large at 10:30, then Doctor Who from 11:00 to 12:30. Until I graduated from junior high, I was sent to bed at 11:00, but once I was old enough, I became a Doctor Who fan.
The Goodies that vividly sticks in my memory is the one where they emigrate to South Africa, all the black people leave the country, so the rest of the South Africans, including the rest of the Goodies, start opressing short people, including Bill (I think), who leads a revolt. And at the end, they get back to England and all South African immigrants are in charge now.
I also remember the image of a battlefield of soldier babies crawling in formation that was one of the funniest things I've ever seen in my life, but can't remember the context (I don't THINK it was the same episode). Sadly, I only got to catch a few episodes before it moved to too late at night for me to be able to stay up.
OMG. I just added another $100 to my Amazon shopping cart of the cutest kids books. Two of them about stinky dogs, a couple about monsters, and one or two about being grumpy.
CUTE CUTE CUTE!!!!!
Thanks all for the recommendations.
Uh oh. If Allyson's been possessed by cuteness, none of us are safe then.
We're all doomed. Doooomed, I tell you!
That happens when the magic escapes the spleen.

Different forces, same effect: me, too. I missed them the first time round (by the simple device of being born too late) and am so far failing to catch them in repeats, mainly because they aren't repeated very often. Unlike Python.
I thought that was bile.
Some children's books have exactly that effect on me, actually.
