Uh oh. If Allyson's been possessed by cuteness, none of us are safe then.
We're all doomed. Doooomed, I tell you!
Discussion of the Mutant Enemy series, Firefly, the ensuing movie Serenity, and other projects in that universe. Like the other show threads, anything broadcast in the US is fine; spoilers are verboten and will be deleted if found.

That happens when the magic escapes the spleen.

I thought that was bile.
Sadly, I only got to catch a few episodes before it moved to too late at night for me to be able to stay up.
Different forces, same effect: me, too. I missed them the first time round (by the simple device of being born too late) and am so far failing to catch them in repeats, mainly because they aren't repeated very often. Unlike Python.
I thought that was bile.
Some children's books have exactly that effect on me, actually.

A not uncommon misconception.
In certain lights they ARE hard to tell apart.
Frankenbuddha, I have the Yes, Minister and Yes, Prime Minister DVDs, if you want to borrow them.

dcp, Thank You! That's a generous offer, but I was sorta joking/sorta wistful. The sad truth is I've got too much stuff on DVD I haven't gotten to yet that I own as it is. If I borrower them, they'd just sit around. I really long for the days when I seemed to have enough time to go see three movies and watch 7 episodes of good television. Which I probably never did as much as I thought I did (if at all), but it's a good memory, so I'll keep it.
But, seriously, thank you.
If I remember correctly, part of the episode includes Gay Boys in Bondage presented as one of Gilliam's inimitable animations.
Y'know, somebody's gonna turn that into a musical.
Scifi Wire talks to Summer Glau. Slightly spoilery in the middle so here is the piece w/o the middle:
Glau: Firefly Secrets Revealed
Summer Glau, who reprises the role of the mysterious River in the upcoming Firefly movie, Serenity, told SCI FI Wire that fans will finally learn some of the secrets behind her character. In the short-lived Fox SF show Firefly, on which the movie is based, viewers knew only that River was a genius who had been surgically altered by mysterious forces for unknown reasons.
"We were setting up all the characters," Glau said in an interview. "We were going back into the past and trying to set up each storyline for each character. And my character was just getting started. And now, in the film, you're really going to see an explosion of what's really going on with River. It’s going to be exciting."
(Paragraph deleted for spoiler safety)
Even so, Glau admitted that it took a moment to reacquaint herself with River and the Firefly universe, which is set 400 years in the future. "I was very nervous," she said. "I hadn't played River for a year and a half. I was so close to her in the beginning and through the whole series, and then when I came in for my first readthrough with the entire cast, I was shaking and sweating and I was really scared. And then after the first few days, it felt like I'd never left." Serenity, written and directed by Joss Whedon, opens Sept. 30. The film is being released by Universal Pictures, which is owned by NBC Universal, which also owns SCIFI.COM
