I could actually get into the city ok, I think. I just wanted Bill there as navigator when I got into town. I got the whole day after off, though, so I'm more inclined to train it in.

So, am I the only Chicago area buffista going to the Chicago preview?
We parked under the Common, a short walk from the theatre, and paid $10; after a certain hour (6, maybe?), it's a flat $10 fee until 8 or 10am the next day.
That's a bargain compaired to here. I parked in the garage at the theatre for the Chicago screening and it cost me $26. Ouch.
Wow- we only paid 8 bucks for the lot across from the theater in Chicago last week. We lucked out.

I tried getting tickets, but alas. I was too late.

Yeah, as I was walking to the restaraunt for dinner before the screening I saw all kinds of much cheaper parking lots. Was not amused.
I spent $3.50 for a train ride there and back.
I almost never drive into downtown Chicago.
I didn't have much choice, being in the far north suburbs and all that. I mean, I suppose I could have researched an EL stop to park at and then figured out how to use the EL to get to the theatre, but really, it was easier to just plug the theatre address into Mapquest.

I missed out as well.

Reminds me of when I went to the Trilogy Tuesday for LotR at AMC River East--movie ticket cost me $30. Parking for the day cost me $29.

Are you close to a Metra station? Metra is the best (and usually the fastest) way to get to and from the suburbs. You'd probably need to take a bus or cab from the downtown station to the theater.
