Fred: So you don't worry that it's possible for someone to send out a biological or electronic trigger that effectively overrides your own sense of ideals and values and replaces them with an alternative coercive agenda that reduces you to a mindless meat puppet? Shopkeeper: Wow. People used to think that I was paranoid.

Discussion of the Mutant Enemy series, Firefly, the ensuing movie Serenity, and other projects in that universe. Like the other show threads, anything broadcast in the US is fine; spoilers are verboten and will be deleted if found.

Compassionately intolerant

I totally want big, fat, juicy, Buffista-written spoilage. Somebody better be willing to say something in the hardcore spoiler thread after tonight, or I shall petulantly stomp my foot and look menacing. I will. I really will. Don't think I won't.

There is not enough wrod in the 'verse to cover my support of this statement.

::prepping foot stomping shoes of doom::

please, please, please...spank me with the spoilers...I promise to be good

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I give it a thumbs up. I would also recommend this movie to others. I will buy the DVD, should they decide to release one.

love's a dream you enter though I shake and shake and shake you

I just posted a big long plot summary in the Firefly Spoilers thread to which ita linked above. It starts here:

Jen "Firefly Spoilers" May 5, 2005 10:32:38 pm PDT

Caveat lector! Every major plot point I could remember is posted, so don't read it if you want no spoilers or if you want only spoiler-lite.

Oh, and two people showed up with signs asking for tickets. Like at a Dead show. How silly was that?

Joss did a nice and funny intro to the preview. The gist: "You fans are great; please help promote the flick." He also said that if you don't like the movie, it is then a time for quiet contemplation, not a time for telling others about it.

I also have a Serenity keychain.

There were about a dozen or so people in Chinese-style dress.

I got there an hour before the start, and there was already a huge line. They checked everyone for cameras and not-turned-off cellphones, and I had to show my ticket stub three times (after already having shown it to the tear-the-ticket-in-half guy.)

I talked to a woman from some Joss spoiler site who said there's gonna be three more previews. Don't know exactly what that means. Maybe tomorrow I'll remember the URL.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Apparently Sean Majer and Morena Baccarin showed up at the Boston preview. Theodosia better have stories!

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

My vote is "yay" but with some reservations. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it and will certainly see it again in September, but there were a few things that bugged.

The intro from Joss was very cool and funny, though.

I am disappointed I lost my survey-thingy (I think I set it on the clipboard while I was signing the thank you cards someone made up for Universal and the theatre and it got lost somewhere in the pass around) and wasn't able to turn it in. I also lost the Serenity flyer thingy that they handed out with the surveys.

"There are two sorts of people in the world: those who believe Joss Whedon is a genius and those who are wrong." - Connie Ogle, Miami Herald

Austin had Nathan Fillion and Ron Glass from what I've heard.

And we got nobody. What's all these cities getting two cast members? Stupid BDH-hoggers.

Adrian Pasdar: bringing hot (and ambiguously gay) to a new level since Top Gun.

Atlanta was cast-memberless, too. Unfair. Although, we did get two nice Universal lackeys.

Yay. And HoYay. Um. Then I start overanalyzing and should really tell my brain to shut up.

Sometimes evil drives a minivan.

I grabbed a couple extra posters/flyers if you want one Kalshane.
