He didn't get through the second disc before he went out and bought his own.
Genetics. Blood will tell.
only one disc at a time
OK, sometimes it is better to place some constraints on your trust in genetics. There are, after all, FF DVD's at issue here.
Just last weekend, I overheard my brother telling my dad about "this great show that was cancelled" and then my brother went on the explain the scene from Train Job where Bad Guy 1 goes through the engine and then Bad Guy 2 gives Mal no trouble at all.
I was floored because it was the first time I'd ever heard Firefly discussed by someone who wasn't part of fandom. I made sure to pimp the movie while I was there.
Whoa, you mean other people watch the show? Cool!
No one should be forced to go without Firefly, that's all I'm sayin'.
You are not wrong.
Aww, y'all are so sweet with the support. I probably am buying myself a new player this weekend. Though I'm leery of the cheap-ass ones, as, well, that's what I have now, bad Japanese translations and all.
We've had our cheap-butt player for a couple of years, so figure doing pretty well for the investment (almost as good as we did on the free one).
bad Japanese translations and all.
You mean the ones translated via Finnish? ;-D
I have earned many toasters by loaning out my dvds. Just sent them off today to a FOAF who is on mandatory pregnancy-related bedrest. She gets 20 minutes a day vertical, so I figure some wacky hijinks with the Firefly crowd will come in useful.
Whoa, you mean other people watch the show?
Nonsense. Joss made the show for me. I can prove this.
It only appears on my own personal TV. Guerilla posters for the movie only occur in my own personal coffee stop. My imaginary Buffista internet respondents only occur on my own personal computer.

Speaking of FIREFLY books, I picked up "Finding Serenity" - looks like it's of a piece with the "# Seasons of Buffy/Angel" books.
One minor surprise - I thought Jane E. was a co-editor but she's actually credited solo for it. Go, Jane E!
It really is a good book. I was particularly appreciative of the essay that details out all the Chinese in all the episodes.
