It is an ethics violation for a psychologist to give a diagnosis for a patient that he hasn't examined.
Spike's Bitches 21 Gunn Salute
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Is there a differentiation between a psychologist giving his/her opinion versus it being a diagnosis? I would think there has to be, what with psychologists who testify in court cases.
no thought about MJ
however in cleaning news I have spent about 15 minutes sorting paper. If I shred for 5 I will meet my goals for today
It was mostly speculation, lots of "in situations like these a person might disfigure the body part that looked most like their abusers/seek to build a second child hood/a Jehovah's Witness who went against the teachings might react in this manner."
Heh. I'm picking up SA at the airport after work today -- I *just* got a postcard from her! As in, 2 minutes ago the mail guy handed it to me.
You know, there is still the whole innocent until proven guilty thing going on in this country. No, really.
I've noticed that tends to disappear when it comes to crimes against children.Eh. There's no innocent-until-proven guilty for me. I'm not a juror or judge. Regardless, whether or not the man molested children, he's disfigured himself through surgery and whatever he did to his skin, has squandered more money than than we could conceive to the point where he's bankrupt, has sleep over parties where he sleeps in the same bed with small children. This sad freak we see today is among the most talented individuals of our era.

Hi.
I try not to think about His Michaelness.
The postcard thing os too funny, Tep.
I cut my hand on a file cabinet on Friday. Asi was typing this post, I looked at the scab. "Hmm," I think to myself, "doe sthat look infected?" Poke. Poke. Bleed.
What the hell is wrong with me?
Completely off topic: what is your favorite brand of coffee that you can buy in a grocery store? I need to find a good grocery store brand.
Yeah. And whether he did anything legally prosecutable, I'd still classify his relations with kids as "inappropriate" at the very least, which is still a different thing from calling him Chester, ie, Chester The Molester. It's sad. I used to be a big fan.
Timelies, all.
I skipped like a skipping thing, and I have been mostly lurking lately due to lots of deadlines and kid-related stuff, but I reappear with a question for any of our teachers or parents:
What's an appropriate homework load for seventh graders? I say "appropriate" with a grain of salt, obviously, since it's going to be different for different kids, but is coming home with only twenty minutes of homework (and, last week, it was four xeroxed worksheets, with one short chapter to read) standard now? I remember seventh grade being a bit more challenging, and J. is not a motivated student in the first place. The lack of work (and the work he has is far from challenging -- a writing assignment recently had to be a few paragraphs) is not exactly impressing upon him the importance of study and the time he should expect to put in to do his best work.
Thanks for any help. It's a crappy Monday here, and now I'm stressed and upset because the issue of school with him just never stops being a huge struggle, whether it's getting him to do the small amount of work he has or trying to supplement it myself so he actually learns something.
