I know, world in peril and we have to work together. This is my last office romance, I'll tell you that.

Spike's Bitches 21 Gunn Salute

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"You see? THAT's what they want. Love, and a bit with a dog."

Bah. Just got the rejection letter from the job I applied for. "Dear Applicant", blah blah blah.

I remember why I took my job now.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Back in the day when I did Weight Watchers (this was, oh, 1998 or 1999), if I was exercising regularly, I consistently ate 2-5 points above the maximum for my weight group, and still lost 1-2 pounds a week.

I was the same way when I lost a bunch of weight on WW back in 2000-2001. I even usually took a day off the program altogether each week, just to keep myself from getting too annoyed with tracking every bite that went in my mouth. I'll probably go back to doing that after a week or two to establish myself in the habit of not living on junk food.

I love the way it just sits there, all by itself, going "Yup, I'm big, I'm pretty, I could blow up any year now. I'm da mountain."

LOVE the image of Mount Rainier in a baseball cap talkin' trash to the Cascades and the Olympics. Though the Olympics are kinda my favorite, especially in all the places where you can see them with the Sound in the foreground.

I KNOW. Seattle needs to come get its weather back, darn it.

We do, we really do. The Cascades are at something like 20% of normal snowpack. Which for now just means all the ski resorts are shut down, but if it doesn't change soon, means water conservation, a possible energy crisis, and dead salmon this summer. Thing is, I don't think it's actually appreciably drier than most winters--it's just been so incredibly warm except for a week or so earlier this month.

OTOH, I also got a packet from my company today, too. I have a retirement plan now! I may as well be written in Greek, and I have no idea what I'm doing with it, but I feel like a grown-up!

Connie, I was thinking it had been a while since I'd seen her here, but I haven't been around much and have no real idea of time.

Off to Target and Borders. Two dangerous places. I shall go armed with a list and be strong.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Sorry you didn't get the job, Lilty. As I recall, yuo k ind of applied on a whim, right? Nice to get a response, at least.

I have no mountains, and it's a gray and dreary day. I am so not going to any parades tonight. Not that I was really planning to, but in the rain there's no way.

(eta: work~ma for Matt, I forgot to send that out. And way to go with the competitive weight loss, Susan. That first week jumpstart is such a good feeling)

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

aw, Lilty. this was the... grantwriting(????) job? I'm sorry. You'll get 'em next time.

I remember why I took my job now.

None of that defeatist talk young lady!

Tom and I are going to Lush tomorrow even though you ignored/resisted my attempts to tempt you to Boston to shop at Lush and hang out during your FIVE DAY weekend. So there!
