Spike's Bitches 21 Gunn Salute

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

And here too, it is snowing!! I was supposed to do four things today--brunch, a burlesque workshop, dinner with friends, and a show tonight.

Instead, I cancelled brunch, skipped the workshop (dunno if it was cancelled), the instigator of dinner cancelled, and I'm waiting to hear on the show. Frankly, I'm just as happy--I went out last night iwth some friends and we were telling ourselves "hey, we might not get to go out tomorrow night! Let's party!" :)

The snow is very pretty, falling. No idea how much there is yet.

I went to the grocery store last night, out in the burbs by work (usually less crowded than in the city) and damn, it was crazy. So I hope Hil managed to find food at hers. I snagged the next-to-last thing of milk that wasn't lactaid, at the store I was at!

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

My kitty wants desperately to crawl onto my lap/chest. Nevermind the laptop. Nevermind the glass of saline I have tipped over my belly button. She wants to snuggle and that is that. This has the makings of a disaster...

brillig

Bright sunny day in Utah. Inversion continues. What looks like a clear day is actually light to medium haze as the pollutants continue to be trapped in the valley.

Give us back our snow! Snow storms clean out the valleys and make our lungs stop burning!

Stoopid easterners, bogarting the snow. There are people in shorts on the streets of Utah.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

So I hope Hil managed to find food at hers.

Yeah, a bunch of stuff was gone, but I got eggs, spaghetti, a jar of sauce, a package of soy "ground beef," and some veggies.

All is well that ends in pizza.

But we may get more later tonight. Aren't you excited?

Actually? Not much more snow tonight, according to the weather.com site. [link]

In fact, it predicts 30's for here in Faribault Monday-Saturday. Wheee!

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Happy Birthday WindSparrow!!!

The living room is done. The dining room is half done and I'm pooped. I think I'm going to finish up the dining room and call it quits for the day.

It is snowing quite heavily here. So far it's pretty, but I'm sure I'll think differently when I have to go out and shovel.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

uggh - squealing panicky sounds outside the window - look out side and a VERY large orange cat has a squirrel hanging from his mouth - still screaming . I bang on the window- and no noise and the cat gives me a look of disdain. I open the window tell the cat " if you are going to eat that - take it out of my yard." Oddly, the cat leaves

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Happy Birthday, Windsparrow!

We have no snow, but we have sleet and freezing rain, yay! And I'm drinking mulled cider and listening to DH snore quietly in between mumbling, "I'm getting up. In a minute." So cute. He's already been out today--picked up the last printer and super-deluxe dvd writer in the store (he called around and had them held till he could get there) on the last day of a killer sale. Losing money not to buy them. I have chicken breasts and lean ground round to grill momentarily, and we got out of the two-hour trip to visit MIL, so we have noplace else to go.

I need to grocery shop too. Maybe I can send the cats... Of course then I will end up with kibble and other randomness.

Kippers! sardines! Herring in cream sauce! smoked oysters! Pizza bones!

My kitty is also snoring under the lamp, a contented little barely-audible buzzing. Between him and the DH, is sleepy-making.

Chris is indeed lethal cute. It's so endearing when they do that sort of mimicry. And StY used to give me butterfly pats when I picked him up and he was crying. Broke my heart, especially when I'd yelled, and he'd cried, and then I cried. He was in trouble so much, with the ADHD, and I was exhausted and frazzled. I'm afraid I yelled rather a lot. But the butterfly pats as *he* consoled *me*...oh, heart-hurty to remember.

And I used my voice and my intimidating "Anh!" and occasionally slapping the table surface with a cupped hand to make a loud noise would startle a squirmy flipper long enough to get the diaper fastened. With pins. The point of which went into *my fingers* if they wiggled too much.

Oooh, cider gone. Must replenish.
