The only deviation from the road permitted by my dad on the trips from our home in Cleveland to his mother's home in panhandle Florida was our traditional stop at Berea College, and then for lunch at a little hole-in-the-wall restaurant (on the same block as The Daniel Boone Tavern IIRC) where we'd get the most amazing butterscotch pie. Some of my favorite childhood toys were gotten at Berea College.
That is cool, and a little weird--just because I'm surprised you've heard of it at all. But mostly cool.
we watched a show that took place at SA"s college last night - about dulcimer makeing. I have decicded all woodworking shows are successful only if my DH yells at them for doing something stupid saftey -wise.
Wow, so Berea actually *is* part of the world. Who knew.
I'm really tired. Of a lot of things. I'm tired of traveling, I'm tired of never really knowing where I stand in this group of ours, I'm tired of waiting to do things. I'm not, however, tired of the UK. Though I'm really looking forward to getting home now.
PS--Deb, those pictures were lovely (I didn't realise JZ's hair had gone so short!) but I would really love to see *you.* Just a small desire.
So I'm up before 6 a.m. WITHOUT AN ALARM 2 days running.
What is this strange thing called a schedule? It makes me feel old and cranky.
Wow, Erin. Happy morning. I'm about to run off in search of lunch.

SA, I know from the conversation, where the Berea is, that you, Steph, and WindSparrow have been talking about. But I still think of the Berea and Bereans in the
Acts,
every time I read the name.

When do you come home, SA? I thought you were coming home right at Christmastime, and was surprised every time I saw you mentioning your next jaunt.
What's up with your group?
Go get 'em, Erin.
I'm designing WORKSHEETS.
Before DAWN.
I have become a pod person.
OTOH, Deb looks freakin' amazing in those pix!
I can only get the page with the thumbnails. My PC has been acting funny with java based stuff, lately. I can't use TVGuide.com. Some java stuff is fine. Some things, like the slide show, just won't work.
The pictures are lovely. Deb, are you finding the haircut easy to maintain?
Was it Nova that said the iPod broke? NOoooooo! No iPod's breaking! I decree! That really sucks.
I have LOTS to do today. Mainly, I need to write one of my papers for my incomplete. Because of that, I expect much whining. So, I apologize in advance.
My friend who is in the hospital is in stable (but still very serious) condition. They've upgraded his chances of survival from 20% to 50%, which is *very* good news.
Oh, I'm so happy! May he continue to improve. continued ~ma to them and to you.
Also, lending support to JZ's expression. Hope it unknots your stomach some...
I have a stupid sinus headache. I am so freaking sick of being sick all the time.
Also, I have decided not to take a grad school class this semester, to wait till September (if I get in to the program). It's just going to be too insane at work this spring, and I'd rather start my academic career, and get into the groove of it, when it's a bit quieter here. When it gets crazy next spring, I'll already have gotten a taste of acedemia and worked out logistical stuff, and figured out some study habits and stuff.
Am I a quitting quitter that always quits? I'm just not ready this semester. Also, job responsibility is on the increase, due to promotion and upcoing calendar of insanity.
