I'm awake. Of course, it being 11:30 here, I can't exactly count this as an accomplishment.

I don't know, Kristin. I may well be back asleep by 11:30, my time.

I'm awake. I got up "early" (hee) to watch the Rose Parade. Do you see the panda float? OMG, so cute and BIG PANDAS!

Deb, I'll thank you many times for the tip on Prosecco. I'll send you a virtual toaster, though, because that's all my budget allows. Ones for my brother and father, also. I've been busy converting people. My daughter's roommate, too! I almost forgot.

I really wouldn't blame you.

I'm considering showering. I might also do laundry. This looks to be the bulk of the excitement for the new year.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

awake.

not sure I will remain that way. I have a sinus headache. ( two glasses of wine - therefore no hangover) and I have MANY sore muscles from dancing.

I'm awake. I'm watching the Rose Parade and drinking my Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee. Bearing in mind the superstition that what you do on New Year's Day is what you'll do the rest of the year, I'm drinking expensive coffee and slounging. Later I will make black-eyed peas and collards, for luck and money in the new year.

Heh, I must wish to live the champagne (or in this case, Prosecco) livestyle, for that is what I am drinking. I'll get to the coffee later.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

Morning.

Cass, no, I don't need the toaster. I was just amused to see the prosecco love flow so freely. I am never without a bottle in the house these days; really good champagne is a thing of beauty, but it's also oddly fragile. Prosecco has a nice tough "you can drink me, and I'll make you happy, you can cork me up and not even wonder if I'll be ok, and I'm not making you mortgage your house to buy me" thing.

I woke up to a fan letter, from a seventeen year old girl in Michigan. Nice way to start the day.
