Spike's Bitches 21 Gunn Salute

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Well, I met with the realtor yesterday. It appears that the house should sell fairly quickly, and for about 30% more than I paid for it. Whee!

The not-so-fun part of all of this is that I have to repaint, and I have about three weeks in which to do it all. It's doable, but I fear my tendency to procrastinate. Ergo, Best Friend is coming over here in about 15 minutes to drag my lazy ass over to Home Depot.

So, it looks like I'll be back in St. Louis in March or April.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Sweet, Anne! I missed something. Why are you moving?

Why are you moving?

Oh, it's a long, long story that can be boiled down into three basic parts.

1) I'm having trouble finding a job out here that pays enough for me to support myself.

2) I miss my mom, dad, and assorted family members who all live in the St. Louis area.

3) The cost and pace of living in St. Louis are much saner than there are here, and I could live as well as I did here on much, much less money.

It wasn't an easy decision, but I feel certain it's the right one. I'll be leaving behind a couple of very good meatspace friends. At least you all will be moving with me, or at least you will be when I get my internet connection in my new home.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Where are you living now, Anne? I seem to have blanked.

I know all about this, eh? Good luck!

Hm. I think, perhaps, I will add to my tentative bullshit plan, since it makes me feel better if I have some goal to stick on my mental calendar so at least it's not a big blank void, that my next step after another year here is to move to California and work at the San Francisco Chronicle.

(Liltyyyyyyyyy!)

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Great news on the house, Anne. That must be a relief!

The LJ crash was the topic of much conversation at Emily's party last night. The party was tres fun, and I ate lots of chocolate chip cookies and potato chips. I was just so attracted to them. Yum! Should have taken some cookies home with me. You know, just put them in my pocket... no, actually, vw wanted us to take stuff, but we were too much out the door to stop and take in that aspect of leaving. All food was delicious!

It's cold and will be snowy today. Tom doesn't feel well, hasn't since yesterday afternoon.

Woud like to eat chicken salad with Deb and pretend math talk isn't happening.

Cashmere, I keep trying to respond to your LJ post but I think your journal may still be down.

OK, back to snuggle with my husband.

Which I find so amusing, because I had maybe an hour online yesterday--less--and my heart bottomed out when I found out LJ was down. My best friend said I looked quite distressed. And then it's up today, and people started writing about what they did in lieu of LJ. It ended up sounding like a where-were-you-when-Kennedy-was-shot kind of thing.
