~ma for my mom would be greatly appreciated. Her mom has been in declining health for the past few years, and it that decline has recently sped up drastically. There's lots of other stuff going on that makes the situation really, really ugly (the phrase 'soul-sucking vampires' has been used to describe several of the parties involved), and my mom is going to have to fly out there to deal.

I just cleaned the living room, which consisted of vacuuming, throwing the toys at the toybox, picking up the clothes and moving the couch so the babies can't get to the plants anymore -- the ones I love are now up in my bedroom, though, just to be sure. It's amazing how long that takes. Now I have to figure out dinner.
