P-C, it's the voice I like the most. Honest and perceptive and just a bit cynical while at the same time being content ("At night, I can see the stars.").
Ha. My brother and I joked about how we had to go tell our friends we could see the stars so we could sound all deep and poetic. It's a tacked-on happy ending, when I could have just as easily gone some other way.
It's you all over, which is one of the hardest things to achieve in writing while still telling a good story.
Thanks. Is it supposed to be hard? Cause, you know, I didn't really try or anything. That's just what came out. And honestly, it may be "[me] all over," but it's a tad fake. I was stepping out of my element with the conscious attempts to describe the village coherently with some semblance of tactile imagery. So I guess I did try a little. Later on, the entries will be much more me all over. Where I'm not so self-conscious about what I'm writing, and just write. I try to walk a fine line between writing for me and writing for an audience.
P-C, chiming in to say that's some beautiful writing you have there.
Susan has a new tag. It's probably supposed to be inspirational, but it's also illogical.
it's also illogical.
Even if you start out down?
Is it supposed to be hard?
I think it's harder to do in fiction than it is in a personal essay, but it's still not always easy. I don't know about anyone else, but I liked the stars thing, and I also definitely hear "you" telling this. For what it's worth.
Even if you start out down?
Damn you and your wily brain.
I think it's harder to do in fiction than it is in a personal essay
Yeah, definitely.
I also definitely hear "you" telling this. For what it's worth.
Thanks.

Huh. It is, isn't it? I thought it was such good advice for keeping with the writing even when things aren't going well, but now I may have to replace it as soon as I can.
I made Susan change her tag. I am a bad person.
Is it supposed to be hard?
Nope. That's the beauty of the thing.
