I keep having this thought that this is all working too easily and isn't this type of thing supposed to be difficult
Not always. Sometimes, that type of thing isn't difficult at all.
Emma is, as always, adorable. I'm very cross there's all this distance between me and her, because I want to hold her and rock her to sleep while singing "Goodnight Demon Slayer". (The perfect lullabye for all Buffista babies, and I *really* need to make copies of it to send to the various Buffista parents.)
So far, her favorite lullaby is "yesterday". She's also partial to "Blackbird". Her favorite fun song?
Only in Kenya.
Deb, as soon as she's able, she's getting piano lessons.
Emma looks so lovely. And that picture of the three of you made me get a little sniffly.
I'm in the process of moving my enormous number of books into different rooms of the apartment; right now literally everything I own is crammed into my bedroom, and it sucks. I feel like I'm living in a dorm room. So I've decided to take everything that's not actual bedroom stuff out of the room. It's challenging, that's for sure.
Does anyone have Polter-Cow's mailing address? I found a copy of the literary magazine Ploughshares in my moving, and the one I have is edited by Lorrie Moore. I thought I'd send it to him. If anyone knows it, could you please email it to my profile address? Muchas gracias.
Emeline is beautiful. (But that Santa was a little creepy.)
YES! (and yes!)
"Goodnight Demon Slayer".
NEED NEED NEED
Jen, are you still coming out here?
No. Hrmph. My parents found out that the Bodyworlds exhibit is moving to Chicago in the spring and opted for a trip there instead, in May. Not that I can really complain, seeing as it's a gift and all, but I'm still bummed that I won't be out there.
I really need the tune to that so I can add it to my repertoire.
